“An Extraordinary Hidden Gem in Whittier!

I hosted my mother's 80th birthday celebration at this aesthetically, beautiful restaurant about three weeks ago, and let me tell you our guests are still raving about it! This place is truly a hidden gem in Whittier.

From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The Oaxaca-style food was outstanding, rich in flavor and beautifully presented. The dessert was a definite hit with everyone, and the ambiance was exactly what we had envisioned-warm, inviting, and perfect for such a special occasion.

Xotchil, one of the owners, was an absolute pleasure to work with-professional, extremely accommodating, and incredibly responsive to every question and request I had. Her team-Liz, Ines, and Raul-were equally amazing: friendly, attentive, and very professional throughout the entire event.

We were also grateful that the owners allowed us to bring in a Mariachi band, a Dueto band, and even a photo booth to make the night even more memorable. It was truly a magical and heartfelt evening, and I couldn't be more thankful for how everything came together.

This milestone celebration meant so much to our family, and choosing this venue was one of the best decisions I made. Thank you to the entire team for your excellent service and for helping create such a beautiful and unforgettable memory for my mother and all of us!“

“I was told about this place from an out of town coworker that has relatives near by. The owner/cook was very hospitable and everything was surprisingly low priced. Tacos were very tasty and well balanced. I would go back definitely. The only thing I didn’t really like was the parking lot cause its entrance is very close to a busy blvd with fast traffic. You have to exit very carefully. I recommend either parking in the back, side street or back in.“

Came back 2022, 2years later theyve renovated since and a lot busier now than back then when they were RC Burger Cafe, and now Tu Taco? Always see at Tue & Thu nights passing by its always packed; Same food and same friendly staff taking orders. Ordered French Toast and it is on point and affordable.

They have a covered-open air seating up front and an AC enclosed seating at the right of the building, away from road and LA heat.“

A lot of people in Uptown are sleeping on thos place.
Also feel it's best after a night of fun at the bars in the area.

“Service was friendly and attentive, The pupusas were made fresh to order which added to the yummy nom nom flavor 🤤 Dining in let's you hear the fresh pupusas being made, my mouth was watering as we waited. We will come back for more soon! The bean and cheese pupusas were my favorite.

“Sumo taco is excellent. Quality of meat and fried cheese shell is cooked to perfection. Sauces are light but not watery with excellent flavor. The green sauce is spicier than the red. The Half & Half nachos and fries were AMAZING. Again, the quality of the meats (I loved the asada thr best) and the perfectly cooked fries and homemade chips were perfect. Nice size plate as well.“

“Hole in the wall but wow that price for a super burrito! Burrito was nothing to brag about. Ordered a super burrito with buche and asada. $26..... They needed to heat it up more, the cheese was not remotely melted, I guess I shouldn't have ordered it with everything, the salad probably cooled everything down. Cause the burrito was not piping hot like how I would have liked it.
That being said omg this is a giant burrito larger than a smart water bottle.“

The base is made from masa dough, which is cooked until the outside gets crispy and the inside stays soft and chewy. So you can have some tacos and check out his antique store which is open.The burritos are very good, I also ordered the quesadilla frita which is so tasty.
