The ambiance is unbeatable. From our seats we could see Yosemite Upper Falls. The service was fine. The waiter and busser were both very friendly and highly competent. The food itself, however, was meh. My wife had the chicken, and it was very dry. The pickled carrot strings are a strange item of little interest. Food is okay, not too good, very few options but they are fast. They will give veggies on the side to burgers. Looks pretty good and toilets are decent, could be cleaner but it is not too bad. They have at least 30 tables inside and a couple outside so plenty of space.

We have had excellent meals in the past at the Mountain Room. Sadly, last night's was not one of them. The halibut was far overcooked, the saffron rice was a stuck-together mess, the sauce uninspired. Our other entree, a portobello mushroom burger, was more satisfactory. Our server was attentive. The wine (The Pale Rose) was excellent.
