No need to spend lots of money for good food and a comfortable atmosphere by going to Aspen. The Tipsy Trout is the place. Had a great elk burger and sweet potato fries. Cooked to a medium perfection. Had good live music on the Thursday night that we dined. Dogs were welcomed in the bar area.
Good fish and chips in a great location across the street from Alpenault lodge Basalt. They have a nice selection of beers and bars on my friends comments, good cocktails. Service was attentive and friendly. Live music was interesting to say the least albeit a bit "coarse" so beware with little ones in the evening.

Great $19 fish tacos with black beans, but requires using knife and fork because single flour tortillas break apart. Excellent generous portion 3 pieces of batter fried fish and chips for $23. Very good burger. Nice atmosphere. Good service for our large party of 10 on a Friday night. Fair prices if you think of it as resort pricing.
