Restaurant 1858 Reviews
Let's put it this way. If this restaurant wasn't located where it was, it would not be a recommended place. Food is good not great.
Loved the classic trout and the ambience. Would definitely return. The service was wonderful.
We got the cast iron trout. The trout was very good but the rice was overcooked. The Gold Fashion cocktail was great. Also recommend the BBQ glazed bacon wrapped shrimp. This was for a special occasion, go for the atmosphere and the service. Hit and miss on the food and I did leave wondering if it was really worth $180. We were late for our reservation. Restaurant 1858, located at the base of 7 Falls, offers a mix of special flavors and a pleasant ambiance. The trout offerings are a highlight, and the cast iron trout is highly recommended, though some dishes like the chicken can be overcooked. The restaurant provides attentive service, with staff being professional and helpful. The Gold Fashion cocktail is praised as great, and the BBQ glazed bacon wrapped shrimp also comes recommended. The atmosphere and the view of the falls create a memorable experience, especially for special occasions. Prices tend to be on the higher side, typical for a resort restaurant, and some guests find the food quality inconsistent—hit or miss on certain dishes. The shoestring fries and patio seating are perfect for people-watching and add to the overall appeal. Visitors should be aware of the parking fee at Seven Falls, as access involves a shuttle and walk, which was not indicated when making reservations. Overall, the combination of the view, the service, and the flavors makes Restaurant 1858 worth a visit before heading for a hike up the falls.
