A huge improvement from Chihuahua Cafe
This place is a hidden gem for real! The breakfast burritos NEVER miss always delicious and the little “drive through” out front is so convenient. The staff is so friendly despite the language barrier we’re definitely able to communicate so well, especially the woman who runs the drive through out front most mornings. I LOVE el zarape I won’t get a breakfast burrito elsewhere!
My whole family went there. This place is endorsed by my mom, that is the highest culinary praise.

EL Zarape South Federal offers a true Mexican food experience with homemade cooking that feels just like home. The atmosphere and experience are great, with a kind and super friendly staff providing incredible hospitality and quick service. The food is solid, delicious, and incredible, with some of the best menudo and breakfast burritos in Denver. The breakfast burritos are awesome, decent, affordable, and delicious, with perfect portion size, fresh tortillas, and a good balance of elements. Other menu items, like the queso, are also bomb. However, service can be very inconsistent, sometimes feeling like a mission to get refills or complete orders, even when the restaurant is not busy. Despite this, the food still tastes good and the place could be great with some improvements. Many customers plan to come back with family or visitors from out of town.
