“Russes was a great stop on our trip. In particular was a bartender Stevo. He was the best. Funny fun. He arranged the whole bar to sing happy birthday to my wife. He was the best.“

“My husband, son and I enjoyed lunch at this establishment. It was delicious. A shout out for your berry salad and your teriaki chicken! We are back home in St Louis now and I miss your food already. Our waiter happened to be from Edwardsville, IL and he was great! Both tables next to us were also from Missouri too. Fun atmosphere!“

“For a small place, they are truthful. It might be slow, but the kitchen is outstanding. Had wings, dry rub, and sirloin tacos. Dry rub was tasty, a little extra pepper but overall outstanding the tacos, a lot going on, but seriously good. The salsa had an outstanding kick.
Beers, tropical punch easily won from my flight.
Be patient, they may seem slow, but a lot going on!“

“After years of driving past, we stopped in for dinner. It's definitely not fancy, but the food was so good, and the prices were very reasonable for such large servings. We REALLY over-ordered but will enjoy all the leftovers! The soup was thick, hot, and spicy with rich flavor. The fried rice had large, tender pieces of chicken, but the peas and carrots were tough and seemed freezer-burned. The veggie egg fu yung was light and fluffy, covered with large strips of perfectly cooked veggies in a nice brown sauce - we've only had this dish with small pieces of veggies in with the egg, so we were pleasantly surprised. The Szechuan chicken was spicy and flavorful, with lots of broccoli and carrots. We will definitely return but will get take-out instead of dining in.
Vegetarian options: Peas and carrots were not good (frozen/freezer-burned?) but the other veggies seemed fresh and were plentiful.“

“Great location with an excellent view of the mountains, lots of on-site parking and open space for the kids and dogs to play.
They sell a variety of microbrews and offer hard liquor for those that prefer cocktails over beer.“

“I normally didn't write a lot of reviews. I'm the type of person that feels if you do something well it should be celebrated.
I love spicy food. Most of the time I'll order extra spicy and end up disappointed . This place was different. I ordered General Tso chicken and asked for extra spicy and the delivered! You can see all the extra spices on the chicken itself plus there were plenty of chili peppers mixed throughout.
Will definitely be back!“

“Grandmother's Kitchen feels like a warm hug the moment you walk in. The staff is incredibly welcoming and treat you like family from the start. The food is absolutely outstanding — hearty, homemade, and full of love. You can tell everything is made from scratch with care and tradition. The portions are generous, the coffee is hot and fresh, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I was a chef for over 20 years and will stand by any local restaurant that provides the same high-quality food consistently. The waitstaff is usually knows you by name and brings you your drinks before you even ask what you need. Additionally, this is one of those local businesses that always donates to local non-profits and events in the area. If you're looking for a comforting, down-home meal with small-town charm, this is the place to go. Grandmother's Kitchen is a definite must-see when traveling through Woodland Park and Teller County!“

“DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. I used Garden of the Gods Catering & Events for my wedding earlier this month and it was a disaster from the beginning. My trouble starts back in July when I tried to get ahold of someone to change my dinner time. It took over two months and me reaching out to general phone numbers and emails to get ahold of someone, mind you I had already paid in full so I couldn't back out or else I would have. Turns out the gal I was in contact with no longer works for the company. It came down to less than two weeks before my wedding day that I finally was able to get in touch with someone. When I hadn’t heard anything from the gal I had spoken to in the couple days prior over the phone, I emailed the general events@ email. I get an email after expressing my deep concern for my catering order in general saying “Hi, I emailed you yesterday. Did you not get it?”. Obviously if I’m reaching out, I didn’t receive anything, right? I thought we were good to go once I had a phone call and other email exchange with the gal that was taking over my day. I thought I would be able to brush communication mishap under the rug. Cut to dinner time on my wedding day. I realize it is far past the arrival time on my contract & dinner was supposed to be getting set up more than 30 mins ago. After frantically calling and sending an email, it took my father to go out & see if he could find the caterers down the road to learn that the truck has been stuck. I then get an email saying “I tried to email you”. How did that email go through but the first one didn’t? Then another email saying “I tried calling”. I had been at this lodge for 2 nights at this point had zero trouble with service or getting calls/texts/emails through. We also had two different caterers and a rental service come to the lodge also with zero service/communication difficulties. Because of this failure of communication, we ate dinner far later than planned, the food was cold & rolls hard as rocks. This also meant other parts of the wedding were pushed, causing my photographer to have to stay longer than the contract. I sent an email to the gals I had been in touch with and still have yet to get an email or phone call back.“

“Their prep cook, Joseph Patrick, is extremely homophobic and likes to harass people about it online. If you are LGBTQ I would steer clear of this location. For all we know he may do something to your food if he sees you are LGBTQ. It's dangerous times with these hate filled people. Better safe than sorry.“

“We came for dinner one night while in town. I had the California burrito, she just had the spicy white queso and chips. She really enjoyed the queso, it was very thick. The burrito was good and a large portion. Seemed like a typical tex-mex place, which I could tell from the menu and is ok with me. Friendly and helpful service. We also ordered margaritas. One large and one smaller. They were good, although I didn't feel like I'd had much tequila after finishing the large.“

“I brought my family from out of town here before the Cograil and they accommodated us well. The server was alone but very attentive and kind. The chef/ owner is a one man shop and executed the food in a timely manner. The absolute best pancake and breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. My family was impressed and satisfied with their meals. We will definitely be back.
The nostalgia and history of the restaurant is beautiful as well.“
