“Patty Cakes is one of my all-time favorite bakeries! Everything I've had there has been absolutely delicious. My favorites are the ricotta pies (sweet, creamy filling in a mini pie crust) and the coffee cake, where the topping is as thick as the cake underneath. It's very rich - a little goes a long ways! - and it's the best coffee cake I've ever had (sorry, Grandma!) Stop by any time you need a little pick-me-up, the friendly staff will make sure you leave happy!“

“I had recently noticed in my reviews on Google; that it has been a while since the last review I posted, so I am posting now. However, I also would like this to be an apology to the store that I want to review because a few weeks ago I had posted a store only review that; though it was not rude in any way; it was a bit negative, and it was not deserved. The store I am talking about…? Bruegger’s Bagels on S. Main St. in West Hartford, CT.

First off, the atmosphere in the store is wonderful, and it is clean to the point of being nearly spotless…Then there is the staff; so efficient that I am never waiting long whether I have pre-ordered on the web, or am ordering right as I come in. They are friendly too!! They greet you very nicely and are ready for any request possible. The manager herself will often be there ready to help as much as any of her staff. It was the manager herself who; when I said I was thinking about trying one of the bagel and egg sandwiches on top of the bulk order I always go in for; it was she who noticed that I had enough points available to pay for the sandwich. It was also her recommendation that I get the LARGE ice coffee with the sandwich as it is included as a meal; and the bagels themselves are delicious!! Every one is fresh and full of flavor whether you eat it right away, or you take them home to store in your freezer till you are ready to consume them.

Bruegger’s even has two over the other bagel places in the area, and that is that 1) YOU do NOT have to ask them to slice your bagels; they will ask you first; they even have it as an option on their website. That is actually true in all the branches though. 2) When you purchase bagels in bulk like I do; they will send an email asking for your input, and as a reward; they will send you a code that you can use to receive 2 extra bagels. So for the price of the baker’s dozen of bagels they sell; (13 bagels instead of 12); you actually have 15 for the price of the 13.

“Jersey girl here that stumbled upon this place on my way into Connecticut for my son’s football game yesterday. I think I had one of the best bagel sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life- and I’m certain it was the best jalapeño cheddar bagel of my life. What a gem this find was, too bad I don’t live closer. The customer service was impeccable and the owner or manager (I think) was very gracious to this traveling Jersey girl with the weekend rules! Not to mention, very easy on the eyes 😉 lol. I feel so many people are ready to rush to complain about things at places they don’t like so I felt the need to make a comment and compliment on something that was great! 😊 Great place- definitely worth the wait“

“Amazing bagels! They are so soft when you get them in the morning, they fresh bake them everyday day. First time ordering DoorDash from here, and I got a cute drawing along with it. :) They have lots of different cream cheese and bagel options.“

However, the girls working there really went above and beyond to make up for it. They were incredibly kind and accommodating, even giving us an extra bagel to make sure we left happy and had a great experience.
