“So it's a bit of a throwback to roadside bars of the 80sSimple sparse seating. Large ish u shaped bar to one side. Several TVs but most of the space is dedicated to a dance floor for live music.The service was ok,the food was above average well made but uninspired. A basic quick bite or stop for a drink that is well priced but simple.“

“Jennifer Schaller is a saint. I was driving south from Portsmouth NH where I had said goodbye to my brother. I wanted desperately to get off the road and have food and drink and hold a private vigil. I received a text my brother John had passed a shortly after midnight.
Jen was a guardian angel and whipped up something warm for me in the closed kitchen and kept the whiskey flowing.
She then found me a fine room at the refurbished Best Western at an excellent rate (thank you Patel family) and gave me local directions.
I’m a disabled veteran and it’s make proud to meet folks like I did the night my brother died.

“We were in CT from SC for a wedding! We went in on Saturday to watch South Carolina Gamecocks football game. The manager and Kasha were awesome! The manager put the game on two of the big TVs in the bar area so that all of us from SC could watch. They were so attentive kind and supportive of the Gamecocks even though we lost. The manager don’t know his name sorry, and Kasha were amazingly kind! We went back Sunday morning for brunch. Food and service were spot on!!! I don’t know that I’ll ever make back to Connecticut, but I highly recommend going to red heat Tavern if you are in that area! Come to SC Red Heat Tavern!!! “Love these dive kind of bars. We were welcome to warmly when we walked in. Everybody there is so friendly. Food was reasonably priced and pretty darn good. Looking forward to listening to Arizona maid band when they play this October. I definitely would recommend as a great neighborhood bar and good“

“Had the Red Potato Pizza, as well as the Taco Pizza. All I can say is WOW! Red Potato came highly recommended by a UConn alum; It did not disappoint. HUGE pizza for the $$. Fantastic cold too! Thanks for the experience.“

“Oh My goodness!!! You have to try the salmon plate. The glaze on the salmon is THE BEST tasting glaze i have ever had! And then, it also came with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, which were both delicious as well, but could use options for veggies and mashed, etc that is a little more lively. Such as seasonal fresh vegetables medley. Although, just as it was, it was more than I could ask for in the way it was cooked and plated. That glaze though...
Of course its just about the most expensive choice on the menu, coming in at $25, but I'm glad I went for it. I can't wait to go back and have it again! Everyone else in my party had wings, sandwiches, mac and cheese...

“My daughter and I stopped here on our way back from a UConn tour - I’m vegetarian and the Mediterranean pasta was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had - highly recommend!!! My daughter ordered chicken and a side of fries, the fry order was huge for $5! I helped her eat the fries and we both couldn’t put a dent in it! Friendly staff, beautiful sunset view - if we are ever back in the area we will definitely stop back in!“

“Food is great, atmosphere is nice, service sometimes spotty, but Brandon is the man who makes up for it! To be transparent, I had been waiting around about 30 minutes past when my food was supposed to be ready to get my order, but Brandon was the only person on the staff who had checked in with me and apologized for the mistake, WHILE he was already busy working on his own things. I wasn’t even trying to bust chops, but I was told another 8 minutes and it became another 20 for the pizza, and then my pasta was forgotten when the other staff initially handed me my order. Brandon held it down and was able to get complimentary carrot cake for my girlfriend because of the long wait, which I appreciated. Check in with Brandon, he’s great along with his service, and so is the food.“

“We just had our class reunion at Murphy's. The experience could not have been ANY better! Jack and Charles were incredible, attending to our group and helping us to have an experience that EVERY person raved about. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful and the service was top notch! I wish that I knew the names of both servers. They were both excellent, cheerful and worked so hard. Bella was incredible. She made sure that no glass was empty and that each person had exactly what they needed. The other server was also extremely atrentive to our guests. Charles went above and beyond helping us to get a slideshow up on the big screen and Jack had great suggestions that made our reunion a HUGE success. My hat is off to the entire staff. This reunion was amazing and you helped to make many happy memories. We are so grateful!
