“I would walk 500 miles... Well maybe not walk 500 miles. But I will drive 350 miles round trip. Just to have dinner at one of my favorite Restaurants in my old neighborhood. Congrats to Kenny and his culinary and service team. Dinner for my party of 4 was delicious. The 3 specials Short Rib Ravioli, Chicken & Sausage Paella, and the Baby Rack of Lamb. The 4th dinner was our longtime favorite Gnocchi Sorentino. Walked out bellies full and pallets completely satisfied. Oh yeah, don't forget the Fried Burrata. Anytime I'm in Brookfield I will visit Portobellos. Love this place.“

The pizza, antipasto, entrees (chicken champagne, veal francese, eggplant rolatini, penne a la vodka), and sides were delicious and plentiful. “Famous pizza has always been our go-to place for pizza and more, for many years! Most recently, Perry and his staff were able to accommodate a group of 9 for a birthday celebration - when the kid wants Famous, you get Famous. The staff had a large table set up and reserved (on a Saturday night) and our pizzas literally came out of the oven as we walked in the restaurant! We were checked on frequently and well taken care of. Another reason why Famous is truly the best in town!“

“Yummy Italian American food in a cozy environment! The portions are jumbo at normal prices. Appetizers under $10, mains under $20, yay! The mains all come with a side salad. We really enjoyed the fresh bread that comes out before the food, it was nice and hot! They have a good range of Italian American classics and you can customize to your liking. I added spicy sausage to my penne pink sauce and it was delicious!

Our server was fun to talk to and our waters were always full. They do have a couple specials at a time.“

“I’m a tenant in the 400 plus units at Abbey Woods - just a mile from the restaurant and definitely NOT in favor of your delivery policy.
I have to meet your driver 3 stories down at the front door because they will not come in the building to deliver/ your place is the restaurant in town that has this ridiculous idea of how to do business! It definitely affects me as to where I’m going to order from as I’m sure other tenants feel the same way.
Having said that - I think I just had the BEST meatball grinder that I’ve had in years.

“UPDATED REVIEW — OCTOBER 2026

I’ve been a customer of Soho Pizza for many years, and I’ve long considered them one of the best pizzerias in Danbury. Their food has generally been excellent, their customer service has consistently been friendly, and their prices have historically been reasonable.

I originally reviewed this establishment approximately two years ago after a disappointing pizza order. At the time, I noticed a decline in quality compared with previous visits. The pizza was excessively greasy, the center was soggy, and the toppings slid off rather than staying in place. Despite that experience, I gave Soho Pizza four stars because I didn’t believe one disappointing order should outweigh years of positive experiences.

I also mentioned that I intended to return and update my review. Well, I’ve certainly returned many times since then, and I’m happy to report that I’ve continued enjoying much of their food.

Their Buffalo chicken pizza remains absolutely fantastic, and their Chicken Caesar wrap is another standout. The wrap is generously filled, delicious, and comes with a small bag of chips for approximately $12–$13. Both are excellent examples of why I’ve remained a loyal customer.

Unfortunately, my most recent visit on October 15, 2026, raised a different concern: pricing and value.

While picking up an order, I decided to purchase a single slice of pepperoni pizza. At checkout, the employee mentioned that the slice would normally cost $5 but that he would leave it at the lower price displayed on the register. I ultimately paid $4.29, including tax.

Although I appreciated the lower price, I was genuinely surprised by the regular price quoted. The slice was relatively small, no larger than my hand, with a thin crust. It tasted perfectly fine, but there was nothing particularly remarkable about it that, in my opinion, justified a $5 price tag.

The takeout packaging was equally underwhelming. The slice was placed on a paper plate inside a paper bag, without a cardboard slice box or other protective packaging. Considering how easily pizza grease can soak through paper, I would expect a more practical solution, particularly at that price point.

Following my visit, I checked their official online ordering system to better understand the pricing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find individual pizza slices listed anywhere. The menu does offer whole pizzas, including a 14-inch medium pepperoni pizza for $19 before taxes and fees, but no readily available pricing for individual slices. I understand that buying pizza by the slice generally costs more than purchasing a whole pie, but clearer pricing would help customers know what to expect before ordering.

I want to emphasize that my criticism isn’t directed at the employees, whose service has consistently been excellent, or at the restaurant’s overall food quality, which I’ve enjoyed for years.

Rather, my concern is that individual slice pricing and takeout packaging don’t seem to reflect the same value I’ve come to appreciate from their other menu items.

I’m maintaining my four-star rating because Soho Pizza has earned considerable goodwill through years of positive experiences. However, I hope management takes these concerns into consideration. I’d genuinely like to see this establishment continue providing the quality, service, and reasonable value that made it one of my favorite pizzerias in Danbury.“

“We moved into the area about a month ago and tried this place recently. The place has been here a long time but it looks like a hole in the wall sort of place.

We went for lunch. Sandwhiches were pretty good and reasonable. Just not something I would personally go out of my way for. I'm still exploring the area so I may come back down the line.“
