“We stopped into Cooley’s Kitchen while visiting family in Connecticut, and somehow it already feels like part of “home” for us. 🧡🐾 Jen helped us find a table near the back during dinner rush, which ended up being perfect. Low traffic, quieter, and right by a beautiful sunset. As disabled guests with a power chair, sensory overload can happen fast for us, especially in busy restaurants. Whether intentional or not, both Jen and Aaron seemed incredibly aware of the environment around us. Several times when the sun started shining directly into our eyes, one of them would naturally step into the light while checking on us so we could keep enjoying our cheeseburger grinder without getting overwhelmed. Small thing maybe, but it mattered a lot to us. What stood out most was how human everything felt. Not forced “customer service.” Real care. Jen sat and talked with patrons and you could immediately tell this is a place locals genuinely love. Friends, families, regulars. Everyone seemed comfortable there. They checked in with us based on timing and body language, not because some policy told them to stop by every few minutes. Even the thumbs up from across the room felt personal and warm. We had a chance to talk a little about the restaurant too. Hearing that this was Aaron’s dream and that they’ve been building it together for the last two years honestly made the experience even better. You can feel the passion behind the place. Aaron being a chef and Jen helping build the community side of it makes the whole restaurant feel alive in a way chain restaurants never do. Every time we come to Connecticut, we stop here…usually more than once. Truthfully, places like this are part of why we’ve started looking at Ellington as somewhere we could someday call home, even all the way from Iowa. Good food matters. But being seen as human matters more. Cooley’s Kitchen gave us both. 🧡🐾“

“It's pricey but well worth it. You get tons of food for your order and everything is that home cooked goodness that you've always wanted with the convenience of not having to cook it.

Staff are excellent and takeout is incredibly easy. Only downside is their so popular that trying to get a call in can take a while because the line is almost always busy at peak hours.“

I did want to update my review after seeing there being a complaint about the prices of food. Seeing how *consistent* their prices are is remarkable, and above and beyond that the value is particularly noteworthy.

“We really enjoy going to Willington Pizza Too for both take out and dine-in. The dining room isn't huge, but I appreciate the nostalgia of the traditional pizza place vibe they have. We love their pizza too. It is generally a more traditional crust pizza which we really enjoy. Plus their menu is pretty diverse with a lot of other Italian/American options. Their grinders also have a very generous amount of meat in them.“

“This is the store I order from on a average 3-4 times a week, my order is mostly always the same however tonight I placed a order for my kid and husband and I thought I ordered it correctly but this time I actually didn’t! “So it's a bit of a throwback to roadside bars of the 80sSimple sparse seating. Large ish u shaped bar to one side. Several TVs but most of the space is dedicated to a dance floor for live music.The service was ok,the food was above average well made but uninspired. A basic quick bite or stop for a drink that is well priced but simple.“

Almost every single pizza place I have tried here is absolutely abysmal, it's like they forgot how to make it on this corner of the state. Not Square Peg though. Best pizza I've had in months.
