“We visited Mario’s for the first time on Friday Feb 27th after seeing a Facebook ad for their fish and chips dinner. We were beyond surprised and very pleased with the entire experience. The fish and chips was the best we have had, the waitress was very attentive and friendly. Although the place is small it was super busy with lots of take out orders but that didn’t affect the dining room orders coming out in a timely fashion. We most definitely will be visiting again real soon to see what other delicious choices they have on their menu. Great job Mario see you again soon.“

“We stopped into Cooley’s Kitchen while visiting family in Connecticut, and somehow it already feels like part of “home” for us. 🧡🐾 Jen helped us find a table near the back during dinner rush, which ended up being perfect. Low traffic, quieter, and right by a beautiful sunset. As disabled guests with a power chair, sensory overload can happen fast for us, especially in busy restaurants. Whether intentional or not, both Jen and Aaron seemed incredibly aware of the environment around us. Several times when the sun started shining directly into our eyes, one of them would naturally step into the light while checking on us so we could keep enjoying our cheeseburger grinder without getting overwhelmed. Small thing maybe, but it mattered a lot to us. What stood out most was how human everything felt. Not forced “customer service.” Real care. Jen sat and talked with patrons and you could immediately tell this is a place locals genuinely love. Friends, families, regulars. Everyone seemed comfortable there. They checked in with us based on timing and body language, not because some policy told them to stop by every few minutes. Even the thumbs up from across the room felt personal and warm. We had a chance to talk a little about the restaurant too. Hearing that this was Aaron’s dream and that they’ve been building it together for the last two years honestly made the experience even better. You can feel the passion behind the place. Aaron being a chef and Jen helping build the community side of it makes the whole restaurant feel alive in a way chain restaurants never do. Every time we come to Connecticut, we stop here…usually more than once. Truthfully, places like this are part of why we’ve started looking at Ellington as somewhere we could someday call home, even all the way from Iowa. Good food matters. But being seen as human matters more. Cooley’s Kitchen gave us both. 🧡🐾“

“I kept getting moon card on not perfect and it really hurt my feelings until kolossos came and as the kind soul he is he used his spikey arm to transport me to his pizzeria to make me feel better and it did! Had to take a point off of food cuz it kinda tasted like a rabbit that heals and also took a point off service cuz one of the employees named Trih Pwiereh kept putting mines every where and i had to walk around all of them. The decoration was very good with orange fur all over the place almost like Miles'! though i havent seen him in a while... “I’ve been here countless times and the food is consistently very good. The servers are always friendly too. Tonight I sat at the bar after a class and ordered grinders for takeout. Absolutely THE best grinders we’ve had in forever. My veggie and cheese grinder was LOADED with veggies! My husband’s grinder had so much nest he could have created 2 more grinders. “We had been looking for a place for lunch or dinner that was local and not a chain. Been driving by it for years and finally checked it out. The decor is a little dated so if classier atmosphere is what you're looking for go elsewhere. If you want well prepared italien food, larger portions, reasonable prices, friendly, efficient waitstaff and in a warm, family familiar setting....you have arrived!“

“We really enjoy going to Willington Pizza Too for both take out and dine-in. The dining room isn't huge, but I appreciate the nostalgia of the traditional pizza place vibe they have. We love their pizza too. It is generally a more traditional crust pizza which we really enjoy. Plus their menu is pretty diverse with a lot of other Italian/American options. Their grinders also have a very generous amount of meat in them.“

“I was a little too harsh in my judgement! I come back some months later to try my luck with a BLT and a Rodeo Burger and I'm glad I did! The bacon on that BLT had some nice, cold crunch. The Rodeo Burger, while the Canadian bacon slices were fairly tiny, was to die for if throw some of the onion rings they give you on there.“

Almost every single pizza place I have tried here is absolutely abysmal, it's like they forgot how to make it on this corner of the state. Not Square Peg though. Best pizza I've had in months. “I got the bourbon steak tips and they were really good! The steak and mashed potatoes were awesome - there were some lumps in the mash so I knew it was real potato and not instant mashed which was nice considering the affordable price point for steak tips. The broccoli was cooked great, it was completely unseasoned, not even any salt or oil, but personally I liked this because the steak and potatoes were so rich and flavorful, it was nice to have a bland component so as to not totally be over-salted. I was impressed! It was so yummy despite the fact that I walked home with it during a colder evening. Thanks chef!“
