“I’ve been here countless times and the food is consistently very good. The servers are always friendly too. Tonight I sat at the bar after a class and ordered grinders for takeout. Absolutely THE best grinders we’ve had in forever. My veggie and cheese grinder was LOADED with veggies! My husband’s grinder had so much nest he could have created 2 more grinders. Thank you Soula and staff. You are all top notch!“

“So it's a bit of a throwback to roadside bars of the 80sSimple sparse seating. Large ish u shaped bar to one side. Several TVs but most of the space is dedicated to a dance floor for live music.The service was ok,the food was above average well made but uninspired. A basic quick bite or stop for a drink that is well priced but simple.“

“Our family of three came in on Thursday night, June 4th from Boston. We never had F&P pizza and our wonderful waitress assisted us with order g the 5 pizza special so we can try a lot of flavors. She really made our 2 hour drive worthwhile as we continue our vacation south. The pizzas were fantastic and my daughter was t sure if she wanted the crust on one of the pizza charred to the original standards, so she brought it out mid-cook for a visual check. “We stopped into Cooley’s Kitchen while visiting family in Connecticut, and somehow it already feels like part of “home” for us. 🧡🐾 Jen helped us find a table near the back during dinner rush, which ended up being perfect. Low traffic, quieter, and right by a beautiful sunset. As disabled guests with a power chair, sensory overload can happen fast for us, especially in busy restaurants. Whether intentional or not, both Jen and Aaron seemed incredibly aware of the environment around us. Several times when the sun started shining directly into our eyes, one of them would naturally step into the light while checking on us so we could keep enjoying our cheeseburger grinder without getting overwhelmed. Small thing maybe, but it mattered a lot to us. What stood out most was how human everything felt. Not forced “customer service.” Real care. Jen sat and talked with patrons and you could immediately tell this is a place locals genuinely love. Friends, families, regulars. Everyone seemed comfortable there. They checked in with us based on timing and body language, not because some policy told them to stop by every few minutes. Even the thumbs up from across the room felt personal and warm. We had a chance to talk a little about the restaurant too. Hearing that this was Aaron’s dream and that they’ve been building it together for the last two years honestly made the experience even better. You can feel the passion behind the place. Aaron being a chef and Jen helping build the community side of it makes the whole restaurant feel alive in a way chain restaurants never do. Every time we come to Connecticut, we stop here…usually more than once. Truthfully, places like this are part of why we’ve started looking at Ellington as somewhere we could someday call home, even all the way from Iowa. Good food matters. But being seen as human matters more. Cooley’s Kitchen gave us both. 🧡🐾“

“This was our first time trying Alexia's. We ordered a plain, cheese pizza, and it was excellent. The sauce was tasty, full of flavor, without being too sweet or too acidic. The crust was wonderfully crisp, without being charred. I'm not an expert by any means, but I would describe the pizza as "Detroit style." The staff were very friendly. Gluten-free is available as well.“

Pizza inside wasn’t quite what I ordered, it was half and half vs whole bacon, half pepperoni. Called the number on the receipt, spoke to the manager who was super apologetic and offered to make us a new pizza and he delivered it himself within 15 min. They didn’t have to do that, but they made sure our order was correct and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. “Tenth Hole Tavern is the best spot for casual dining/takeout this side of Glastonbury. Their food is excellent and the staff really knows how to show the customers a good time. Kendall and Kelly are the nicest and are very accommodating. Not to mention the full bar, expansive beer selection, and wide variety on the menu. Some of my personal favorites include the chicken tenders (with their house made buffalo sauce), the buttermilk chicken sandwich, and the oven roasted turkey wrap. I had high expectations because the former restaurant (Angie's) had fantastic fish and chips, and Angie's will always be a part of my childhood. I realize things change, and so do restaurants. I have heard great things about Hebron Pizza, so I didn't want to knock them too hard after one dish, but I did enjoy Angie's a lot and was sad to see them go. The restaurant has constantly changed ownership, so hopefully, now they will stay as is. If the one meal I had was better or just as good as what I had previously, I probably would have given it a 5.
