“My wife and I have been driving for mainly an hour just to find the right authentic puerto rican food here in Connecticut. We came across this perfect little cozy place. First timers here. And we MUST say, everything was a 10/10. The food, the service and the cleanliness. It was so relaxing while enjoying our lunch. This is a place we definitely returning back to.“

“We came for the tapas and did not leave dissatisfied!! Soup to nuts this hidden gem has it all! Authentic taste blended in with all the vacation feels! I forgot I was still in CT! From the moment we started with a white white Sangria and Pina mojito we were far far away. The salmon tar tar, chorizo, and pork Arepas blew our minds. Ask for the off menu street corn dip and plantain chips and you'll never want to leave. We will be back for sure and if anyone ever asks just say 'Ola'!“

“I can't believe I had to come all the way to New Haven to get good Puerto Rican food.I got a recommendation to try this place out. I'm glad I did. It has a complete PR feel. The owner greeted me as I came through the door. Everything looked amazing. I just hope it tastes as it looks.There are so many choices. Everything is fresh and made to order, pretty much. I ordered the rice and beans and Carne Frita.This place just happened, he told me. He had been coming here since he was a young man. They left the island and ended up here for good. He decided to open up a restaurant with his wife. This place is authentic. The meals are mix and match. Anyway you want them. People came in asking for different combinations, and there was never an issue. You want beans on the rice and gandules? OK. Whatever you want, they will try and serve. The prices are awesome for the amount of food they give you.For dessert, I got a quesito. It brought me right back to the islands. The whole meal was excellent. The service is outstanding. The whole place gives you a feel of the islands. Everybody who came in while I was there seemed excited to order and eat. I loved it so much that I came back the next morning for coffee and a pastry.I recommend.“

“From the Bronx, we were on our way to Ikea in New Haven CT. We crossed path with La Unica. Took a chance and El Bori provided excellent customer service! The Alcapurrias de yuca/ Parcha drink were on fire! Delicious!!! Next time, will try other food on the menu. I have no doubt it will be as delicous and authentic comida Boricua.Keep up the great job! “I’ve been going to this place since I was a kid in 1987 whenever they operated only on the left side of the building and it was a to go spot. I knew the owner JJ & wife. The new owners seem to have kept the authenticity going that keeps me coming back. Service is just as friendly. And I’ll patron as I did today. As I did 37 years ago as 11 year old kid with an appetite for a variety of good cuisine that has inspired me to cook and create my own dishes.“

“Felt like the hubs and I were back in PR. Pork monfongo and chicken mofongo were made fresh and delicious! Pleasantly surprised I was asked if I wanted a lot of sauce or a little on each. Def got a lot. One happy gringa from out of state! ?“

“The place is great and has improved since my last visit. This Est. has been around a while now and it's always a go to for alot of people in the neighborhood. Especially busy in the morning time before people head off to work. For lunch I would recommend their Pernil with yellow rice and beans. Or their Pernil sandwich. You can never go wrong with that combo.“

“I must say this location really suprised me. I figured it was a small lil spot prolly 3 star service or something... but NOPE! 5 stars all the way! Great music, great food, great customer service. I originally reserved with the manager Gustavo, and he made sure i had a great night. Overall a great evening. Will be returning for sure! ???
