“So on my way home and I’m starving but I’m in Durham and it’s almost 9:00 pm so I pull into Carmines and the guys r outside. I walk up and they say r u picking up and I’m like no I wanted one of the frozen pies in the case. Sorry register is all closed. “Dinner was very good. We went for the $39 fixed price menu as the choices were to our liking. Started with the shredded kale salad (which should have been cut into smaller "shreds" as it was hard to eat) and the polenta with gorgonzola sauce. Very tasty. Salmon and coq au vin for entrees. Perfect size portions and delicious. Desserts were disappointing. Vanilla gelato with caramel sauce was basically a decent vanilla ice cream with a few drizzles of caramel which looked like the dessert had been pre-made and came out of the freezer. Lemon mousse crepes were odd. A crepe - nothing in it - with a dollop of lemon mousse on top that you had to spread over the crepe? Glasses of wine were expensive ($21 each) but good. Tyler was our waiter and he was great. Very attentive, helpful, knew the menu and ingredients, paced our courses and we didn't feel rushed. Ambiance was nice as we sat in the main room with the high ceiling. And the bread was fabulous. Definitely worth the $$ for the fixed price menu. I'd suggest other dessert choices thoiugh. We will be back for the regular menu!“

“What a little gem hidden in a quaint area of CT. Purchased a Groupon and wasn't sure what to expect but were we surprised. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, we were approached immediately to be seated. Dining room had a warm feel with table linens and napkins. Server, Ashley provided excellent service and was very knowledgable with specials and questions we asked. The salad to start was perfect with enough dressing but not overdone, enough Gorgonzola for flavor not excessive and the display of vegetables was impressive. The pasta dishes were exceptional with their home made freshness and the sauce was delicious with much flavor. The menu has many options for your liking and descriptive to make ordering easier. The dessert menu had many options all which looked delicious as we noticed most tables were indulging, so we did too with the gelato. We will return with friends and family. Please try this place, you will not be disappointed and I dine at many restaurants.“

“I am a big fan of B & W’s overall food quality especially the variety of salads, especially the tunafish & fruit. Met a woman from Branford who comes especially for their Broccoli & Tunasalad a ***** always fresh. The homemade dressings delish especially the Honey Lime my favorite. Yes standing in line is never easy but servers work very hard to keep up with food requests & always willing to make the selections exactly as requested. We on the Shoreline fortunate to have such a great place to order such a variety of home cooked food.“

“This place is more for take out, but they gave a few tables inside and some picnic tables outside. The service was great took our order and the pizza was ready in no time at all. Their NY style pizza was authentic I was able to fokd their slices in half and the cheese to topping ratio was perfect. The staff was very friendly as well. We onky had pizza this time, but plan to go back and try other items on the menu. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends.“
