“I want to start the review by saying that I do have a background in culinary being an executive chef for many years and now teaching culinary.My wife and I decided to try this place for dinner and we're not disappointed. In fact, we had a great experience!I want to also say that everything there is made in house, using quality products, including the rolls for the sandwiches. My wife and I split a rigatoni Bolognese to start. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the meat sauce was authentic and delicious. Next we had a meatball calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. The dough was so good as I was cutting pieces with the meatball and cheese making like little sandwiches, I can honestly say it was great! We also ordered a pizza which is made thin crust nice bubbles coming out of the oven, beautifully brown on the bottom crispy crust. The tomato sauce and cheese of a high-quality as well as the other toppings. I would rate this pizza, an 8.8 out of 10. Leaving room for the pizza meccas In New Haven. If you don't want to drive an hour, I recommend you try the pizza here! I had to try a half an order of shrimp scampi, the shrimp were done perfectly not overcooked, linguini was al dente, and the sauce is about as good as I've ever had, capers, sliced fresh garlic, lemon. I also ordered an Italian cold cut grinder to go with plenty of mortadella, capicola, salami, and pepperoni reminiscent of Franklin giant grinder in the south end of Hartford. I planned on reviewing the restaurant so we also have lunch tomorrow! It's a gem in Cromwell that shouldn't be missed!“

The place is charming, especially on Main Street, where you can find a range of attractive businesses.Our favorite remains Lenoci's Italian Kitchen, a real pizzeria set up in a small house.Big surprise when we entered, seeing part of the local Italian-American community seated there! The pizzas are very generous and made on site in dedicated ovens.For a little over $40 for 3 people, we really enjoyed ourselves. I chose Lenoci's Spinach Special with spinach, potatoes, sausages and mozzarella in a small size: it's the equivalent of a family pizza in Paris. I recommend it, but we had to take half the order with us in packages because we were full!Very pleasant and available service.It is very possible that we will come back next time, if the opportunity arises, and when the temperatures are milder ?...“
“I was surprised when we got there, looks like a super typical town-y pizza place tucked in a somewhat dingy plaza. The inside is bright, clean, and not at all what I expected. The service was friendly and very fast. There was a steady stream of patrons but staff kept up well, all seemed to be having a good time. The meatballs in vodka sauce were delicious. Fettuccini Carbonara was flavorful and well balanced. I personally would have had more sauce, but I will just request that for next time. Ravioli are huge and generously stuffed. Highly recommended for a high quality Italian experience in an unassuming location.“

We got 2 pizzas for pick up ordered over the phone. 1st the girl was handling more than one phone at a time so not really knowing if we had her full attention. 2nd we ordered the oozy egg no proscute with an extra egg instead. there was no proscute but also no extra egg and the eggs were on only half the pizza. my hubby asked for a side of red pepper flakes they gave him .5oz, kind of stingy. the 2 pizzas came to $38+ and at that price they could at least pay attention and get the order right. Even if they might have been busy, at least do a quality check or read the order back to the customer so it is right.“

Anyways, picked up my very generous looking half a tuna for under $10 and left. This was one of the best tuna grinders I've ever had. Bread was lightly toasted. Then after we are finally sat we were ignored as the tables on both sides of us that were sat after us were given water and menus while we sat and waited. “Esca is a bustling spot in Middletown. I started the meal with a burrata salad and arancini. Both of these were delicious. For my main course I got the duck breast. “I only ordered takeout, but when I came inside, it had a really nice and welcoming interior. Ordered a large sausage and pepperoni pizza. The sausage was great, thick, but not too much to where it took away from the whole pie. Cheese was tasty and was applied consistently throughout. The sauce was excellent and was just right. Nice dough, thick but stable slices with thin crust. Thin slices but can fold with ease and still not droop. Best pizza in the area, will definitely come back for more. Highly recommend“

“This is my daughter’s (age 6 as of this review) favorite restaurant. We take her occasionally as a treat and sometimes meet up with friends. My daughter has been fighting the flu and after days of not eating much she asked for butter noodles from Cozy Corner. At the time we were coming home from her pediatrician. I called up and asked if they wouldn’t mind bring it out for me so I didn’t have to get my daughter in and out of the car since she is sick. Plus, I really didn’t want to bring her inside.
