“Exceptional sourdough. I always grab an olive loaf when I'm around. Last time I was in I decided to try their cheese and strawberry rhubarb danish and was not disappointed. There's nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread and Bantam Bread delivers every time.“

“We were planning on eating at the Market Place Tavern but we made a detour when we saw the bakery sign. We took a peek in to check their hours and then went up to the next level to have lunch. We bought some treats and an americano and a cappuccino and went on our merry way. The almond cookie was the best of the bunch and was outstanding. The fresh filled cannoli was also great and the raspberry hand pie was delicious. We didn't try the bread but I'll save that for next time.“

“ORIGIN: The cafe is one of several Bantam-based offshoots associated with Arethusa Dairy Farm in Litchfield. LOCATION: Arethusa A Mano is located on the main thoroughfare that crosses Bantam. At times the parking lot is crowded, but parking behind Arethusa Dairy across the street is a good alternative. FOOD and BEVERAGES: The cafe serves sandwiches and baked goods that are not commonly found in this area. For example, cronuts -- a flaky cross between a donut and croissant can be found in the pastry case. Likewise, beverages with unique flavors, such as gingerbread latte are prepared and served. AMBIANCE: Beside the order counter and display case are many cafe tables. The white panel walls are fitted with photos from the farm associated with the cafe. Large windows wrap across two sides, allowing a sun-filled dining area.“

“I’m a regular here and the staff is wonderful. Please be patient, as they are understaffed. The quality of their food is too-notch. And, at least by local standards, their sandwiches are reasonably-priced. I offen grab a to-go sandwich and eat it quietly on a rock along the nearby Shepaug River. Thank you, everybody at The Pantry!“

“Wow! First time and I would say the flavor of the chicken in the empanadas was AMAZING. Me and my spouse enjoyed it. The pastries, cake and sweets all looked amazing, and I’m so looking forward to come back. Also let me mention very clean and maintained store.“

“I would recommend this bakery the owners are extremely nice and they have the best tres letche cake idk if I spelled that right but omg they have the best cakes a pretty big piece for 5 bucks or under and the other things they make are yummy as well. I love to get coffee and a piece of cake at least once a week from these guys.“

“11.17.23 Upon walking in you'll love the fresh smell of baked goods. It took me a good 10 minutes to decide what to get because everything looked so good. Quick service. Easy parking. Small indoors but enough tables for me to sit and enjoy my snacks.“

“Came here on the way to the Hidden Valley Preserve and we are so glad we did! We absolutely LOVED the full Monte. Its actually addicting, i must get another hahahaMy mom loved her grilled ham egg and cheese. The pop tart and sookie cookie were such a pleasant surprise too! It tasted like a brownie, so so good. We plan to definitely be back again for all of it!Everyone was also very nice and friendly, even when the place was pretty full!“

“I ordered 3 dozen cookies with a “Lisa Frank” theme. I sent them the inspiration photos, and filled out the form online, I received a response very quickly. Ashley is extremely professional, kind, talented, and efficient. On top of the cookies being absolutely perfect and even better than I expected, they tasted amazing.“

“Lombardi's is an utterly charming, old-fashioned Italian bakery located in downtown Torrington. It's family run, cash-only, and incredibly well priced. The pretty loaves of Italian bread are only $3 -- and they taste exactly like my mother's homemade Italian bread, which I would gobble straight out of the oven as a child. (My siblings and I would fight over the heel, excavate the innards, and fill it with butter!) Also on offer: -- Lattice pies / tarts, half lemon, half apple for.... drumroll........ $14! -- Eclairs -- Italian cream puffs -- Chocolate chip cookies -- 2 for $1! -- Lots and lots of colorful Italian cookies Not all of the baked goods were fresh out of the oven, but that's not surprising given that it was (1) Sunday and (2) there are so many items available that they cannot possibly keep everything in rotation day-of fresh. We have access to world class bakeries and are spoiled rotten. By our hyper-picky standards, the baked goods were just fair. But given the pleasant owners, bargain pricing, and lovely bread, I have no trouble seeing why this place is a local favorite.“

“Just celebrated my Mom's 85th with a beautiful cake from Cutie Pies. The owner was very helpful in creating my Mom's favorite cake with Lemon and Strawberry flavors. The cake was beautiful, delicious, reasonably priced and ready on time. Best of all, my Mom loved it. Would highly recommend!“
