“It's such a wonderful place. Every person in my party loved their meal. I had the tofu fried rice, and it was divine. The best part though was the staff at the bistro, the service was impressive and every person we spoke to was so kind and warm. It will be my pleasure to visit again. I hope I see you all soon!Vegetarian options: I had the tofu fried rice but this place is so accommodating I'm pretty sure they would take menu modifications if you wanted to make something else vegetarian.Kid-friendliness: My 15 year old son was with me. He is on the spectrum and a very difficult eater. They didn't give me any trouble ordering from the kids menu and treated him with the utmost respect.”

There is plenty of room to work, enjoy time with family and friends, or eat. The ambiance is beautiful with lots of plants, activities, and great lighting. “Love this spot. It gives Cape Cod vibes on the coast of CT--truly quintessential New England. It's majorly clean with plenty of seating inside and out. Beer options are plentiful and the IPAs (my favorite) were phenomenal and may be one of the best I've tried in a long time. They have the beautiful color down-- I knew before tasting it was going to be lovely. The food menu is plentiful and there are plenty of options for all tastes. This is the perfect stop after the beach or really any time. I'll be back again and again and can't wait to come here in the warmer months.”

“I've been getting my coffee from Deep River Roasters for years now, I used to roast my own or have it shipped from assorted roasters around the country. As a pretty big "coffee geek", I can say after trying everyone in CT that I have found, and quite a few places overseas, that there is no place I would rather get my coffee from. You're not going to find anyone around here with fresher roasted beans, or more care put into them. Fantastic coffee and fantastic people, who will certainly go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your coffee. Do yourself a favor and go now! Unless you're too far away, then check their website, because they also ship their beans!Parking: Huge parking lot at the Witch Hazel Works building.”

“I am not from this area, but I stumbled upon this little coffee shop in my travels. I was warmly greeted, and they took my order immediately (this was 11am so not a rush hour for a coffee shop) and they made me one of the best lattes I've ever had. Had great flavor, and was nice and hot. About the same price point as Starbucks, but worth every penny to support a local shop. I would recommend a stop here!”

“For me the Village Cafe is the premier breakfast cafe in the area. I eat breakfast there 2 to 3 times a week. The front counter is dutifully manned by Rita who knows everyone by their first names and greets you upon coming in. The food is prepared by Nick, back in the kitchen, who pays attention to every detail to make sure your breakfast comes out perfect. For a breakfast sandwich that means your hard roll is buttered and grilled in the inside, your bacon is cut to sandwich size and crispy, and your egg and cheese are melted together when it is served. If you want something prepared differently due to personal preferences or dietary restrictions then just tell Rita and she will make it happen, no problem. The coffee is always hot and delicious. The cafe is usually open by 7:15 am. So stop in and give it a try if you haven’t tried the place. It’s a great way to start the day.”

“We tried dinner at El Rincon del Sabor in Westbrook and it was our first time eating Ecuadorian food and it was delicious we tried the Ayampaco de pollo it was delicious we also had a small plate from the buffet we traveled from Mystic Ct to try this restaurant and we would definitely like to go there again. This restaurant is small with booths and tables the food is ordered from a buffet style setting. The staff is very friendly and helpful to guests who are not familiar with Ecuadorian cuisine. The prices are very reasonable also.”

“First, I don't normally like chocolate flourless cake. It tends to be dense and dry so not worth the calories. But this ...this cake...is everything. It's smooth and silky...unless you're allergic, you have to eat this. Your mouth will thank you! The cheesecake is light and whippy, and not too sweet, and the fruit are fresh and happy just sitting there on top with powdered sugar. You must eat have it!!”

My customers were blown away by the attention to detail on the sugar cookies for both events and we have not had a single item as a family we wouldn’t recommend (a few favorites- morning glory muffin, cinnamon sugar donut, pumpkin cheesecake).
