“We visited Taste of 509 Haitian Restaurant in June 2026. We wanted some Haitian food before the 2026 World Cup Haiti v Brazil.

The restaurants very clean and designed with bright colors. We ordered a fried red snapper with black rice, white rice, and chicken patty. Everything was very fresh and the fish was fried after ordering. The customer service was welcoming. The only thing I wish they had were desserts. We will definitely be back when we come to the area!“

“I dine at this location about every 6-8 weeks and have never had a bad meal. Meat and vegetables are always cooked perfectly. Every waiter/waitress we had has also been great. I have mentioned this to the waitstaff and manager in the past as well to recognize exceptional food and service. A few weeks back my husband found that they have a shrimp and lobster chowder that is now a must have every time. Last mention, is their margarita is also perfect every time as well. “I rarely visit bars but I do like trying new places before passing judgement. When I walked in to the restaurant, I thought it was more open and contemporary than I expected, which was good. We were there for a Linner on a Monday so it was not busy. It was not very well lit. Which is always a problem for us because my partner is legally blind. There were 4 regulars at the bar who turned around stared at us, then cracked a joke which got them laughing at our expense. We decided to eat out on the patio as it was a nice day. The patio was clean. The tables had umbrellas which provided needed shade. We were served right away, with a smile. Our server Bonnie was really nice and brought out drinks and refills as needed. She automatically brought the extra napkins and the utensils at the beginning. The order was as requested mostly, but I'd say my burger was undercooked. I asked for medium but it was very medium rare and in the thickest part rare rare rare. Because I'll eat hamburgers just about anyway, and I will never ever send food back. (There is a story there, a word to the wise, don't send food back in any restaurant, evet) I didn't say a word about it. So you might want to go medium well if you like medium. Apart from that, it was a very pleasant experience.“
