“The food and atmosphere were outstanding. The service was alright. It was fascinating to me that certain tables got better service than others. For example, a party of 3 or 5 seemed to be treated more attentively than the parties of 1 or 2. I don't mean to come off as high maintenance or superior, but when I'm paying the prices they charge I expect high quality service. I will be back because the food was so good, but I hope the service improves.“

“Great italian food. Mid point pricing . Nice place to eat for date night. Drinks are strong so you only need one. I would reccomend this to anyone. Cant go wrong with this choice. Highly recomended. Service was great. Didnt need a reservation on a Friday night.“

“Let me share with you a little background. I lived in NY for 23 years, and moved to CT. Since then, I couldn’t find a pizza place that reminded me of home. CT has great pizza, don’t get me wrong, but everywhere I’ve gone, there was always something missing.
Enter Mama Rosa’s, a place me and my wife happened to find tucked away in North Haven. The first time we tried, goodness, I fell over. THIS PIZZA IS SO GOOD. It’s almost EXACTLY like a NY Style pizza!
But surely, it can’t be consistent, right? WRONG. We got it maybe 7 more times, all different pizzas, throughout a few months, and man, ITS ALWAYS GOOD!
Today, for the first time, we decided to try something else; a grinder. I got a chicken parm, and my wife got a steak and cheese. We told ourselves, surely, they only specialize in pizza, no way the grinder can be as good…
…WHAT. LO’ AND BEHOLD, THE GRINDER WAS A HIT, both of them!
Which is why I’m writing this review. This is the best pizza place I’ve been to since I’ve lived here in CT. Please keep this place around, there’s truly nothing like it.

“Truly the nicest people who own and run this restaurant🙌🏻❤️🙌🏻!!! When you go out to eat today, feeling loved and appreciated when you come in, Truly makes a difference! The restaurant is beautiful, clean, well lit, comfortable and on top of all this, the food is Absolutely Scrumptious, and the Cocktail menu is phenomenal!!! If you haven’t been, or haven’t been in a long time, do yourself, your spouse, your loved ones a huge favor and treat yourself to a an Amazing Experience mind, body and soul. You will Not leave hungry, and my bet is you have food to take home with you😉!!! Make sure to leave a little room for dessert, and cappuccino, coffee etc!!! “My Aunt introduced me to this place earlier this year. Their shrimps scampi has me craving a return. Yesterday, was my return to the establishment. I must say. That dish still tastes amazing. Their salad are some of the best I've had fresh wholesome ingredients and a balanced level of your favorite dressing. I think I found my permanent scampi place.
That lasagna was also an awesome dish. Cheesy top. Great tasting pasta sauce. Im not usually a fan of the mix beef and sausage. But I'll gladly eat that any day. That was good.
J Roo's location is no beach front. However, the ambiance was impressive and I appreciate walking into an establishment for a meal and have total peace and serenity. Maybe that's the Anker fermented chardonnay talking 🤔🤔🤔🤔.“
“Having an outside party? THIS is the best food truck to hire! Today, June 21,2025, I’m at my niece’s graduation party & this food truck was amazing! It’s like having a personal restaurant on your lawn. The pizza was fantastic -THE BEST- actually! Frank made me a gluten free pizza with potato, bacon & carmelized onions. Oh my goodness! It has to be the BEST GF pizza I have ever eaten in my life. Super thin, well cooked! I can’t say enough good things about this pizza. He made all types of pizza. Very organized, clean and so delicious! Wonderful people to talk to! Then they have other services like Gelato Giuliana-between the pizza and the gelato-it is the best of New Haven! Then if that wasn’t enough, he made Italian coffee! I have never been so impressed by a food truck in my life as I was today! Wonderful experience! Best Wishes to Frank & his team! Buon Appetito!“

“My family and I were there yesterday celebrating a 21st birthday party. Delicious varieties of pizza and baked ziti was an added surprise. Staff was courteous and friendly. Jim was knocking everything out of the park. Everyone enjoyed their time. Thanks for everything“

“Came here to check out the place as its the closest pizza spot to my new place that offers cauliflower crust pizza 🍕. I got the cauliflower crust, my partner got their regular crust and both were fabulous ! Also everyone was very nice and the dining room has a very at home and welcoming feel. Coming back for sure !“

“I had an INCREDIBLE experience at Olive Garden North Haven. After hearing complaints about the quality / service, I was worried to come. I was so so happy about the unlimited breadsticks I took a picture. My server was wonderful, may have accidentally gotten her in the picture. 😂😂 10/10 service!!!“
