“This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I tried beers from Lasting Brass at bars before, but this was my first visit to the brewery.

The brewery occupies a separate building near a picturesque area with a river. It has 2 separated outdoor patios and a small area indoors. No food is served inside, but food trucks might are onsite occasionally.

I already had several favorite beers from Lasting Brass, because they were not shy to experiment with flavors. So this time I tried all beers they had on tap. Luckily, there is an option to order a small pour. I have to say, that some beers really impressed me. All the beers I tried were solid, crushable and tasty. But the special place in my heart is reserved to their flagship beers - Java Bloom (Imperial Stout) and Contusion (Sour IPA). These 2 were really bursting with flavor, that was complex and layered. On top of the beers, I thoroughly enjoyed the community in this place. It was filled with regulars, everyone knew each other and it was just a really cozy and friendly environment.

I do recommend this brewery to everyone and it is worth a dedicated trip.“

“Outstanding restaurant! (and we do a lot of our dining in NYC!) Local 63 is an oasis in Watertown, CT in a variety of ways. The food is creative (even when the dish SOUNDS traditional). The chicken fried steak (hard to even find in New England) is outstanding. The salads were awesome: perfectly dressed with great crunch and freshness. The Cassoulet (originally a French farmhouse dish) with chicken, in-house sausage, and white beans cooked to perfection is something you will not find in many other places. Great bar--friendly atmosphere and great for large groups and celebrations. This is a hidden gem with excellent service and owners who obviously care! I will go back and bring many other guests here when I have a chance.“

“Had a great lunch today at Lebnani in Watertown, CT. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The beef shawarma and hummus were spot on, and you can really tell everything is made with care. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Definitely one of those spots you’ll want to go back to. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a great meal.“

“We had the pleasure of dining here for the first time this evening! WOW! How have we not tried this restaurant until now?!! Exceptional dining experience! Started with smoked wings and the shishito peppers, which were out of this world good! Fish and chips with fries done in duck fat, Mac n cheese with short rib was soooo good with the Gouda cheese! Julia was an amazing server! It is difficult to find even a good dining experience these days…we would rate this one as exceptional!“

“Came from Maine, and had a great time, absolutely beautiful family, food and sushi were amazing, and the fried rice is to die for. Everything here seems fresh, and that’s amazing and unexpected. Amazing service and cheap for what we got. We will most likely be back tomorrow for takeout! Only thing is, it’s small but comfortable when you sit down. I hope this business thrives!“

“Beer is good but we are saddened that they will no longer have the card purchase for $50 for 11 beers. It was a good value. This may deter us from coming. If it is not working for black hog maybe raise price of card a little? We love the beer but beer is becoming expensive at all of the breweries. May stop coming out to the establishments unfortunately.“

“First time patrons my sister and I. I had ham/egg/cheese toasted rye bread, #2 sandwich I've ever tasted, Great!! My sister had Over Easy Home Fries rye toast, said she wasn't to fond of the taters but everything was Great. Very nice waitress and the restaurant was very clean. Decent prices also.“

“I am in from South Carolina and my friends brought me to John’s Cafe. Everything from start to finish was amazing! Signature cocktails, (They had a Pumpkin Russian cocktail that was amazing) appetizers, entrees , and desserts were all great! “So I have to give so much praise to this winery. First off Jeff is absolutely amazing. I reached out to him back in Feburary asking about using the winery to get married in April and Jeff was so easy to talk to and was so easy to make plans with so I had the best day. Second off a huge shoutout to the staff of the winery. I was married on April 13th 2024 and it was rainy, windy, and incredibly cold. They let us get married on their deck and out of the rain no questions asked. I went back today on 4/15 to pick up a bottle of wine because I want to have it to drink on my one year wedding anniversary of a wonderful memory of the beautiful place we got married at. The ladies behind the bar were so kind and helped me pick the best wine to my liking. Thank you so much for giving me a beautiful place to get married and a beautiful place to have created beautiful memories with those I love the most. “Amazing Vegan pizza.“

“We visited Walker Road Vineyards today after seeing the sign while driving through the countryside and we cannot recommend it enough. The scenery was beautiful. The barn gave it a rustic feel and the wine was delicious. My husband and I had the rose and it was superb. Also the owners were incredibly kind and took the time to talk to us about the history of the vineyard and they walked around talking to other people too. What really made it special was them taking the time to talk to my kids and make them feel important! Let’s keep small businesses like this alive. We will definitely be going back in the future!“

“We have had many great meals in Istanbul. I have to say that Sultans is like being there. We have enjoyed many delicious dinners at Sultans and have celebrated events there. The food is consistently excellent. There is no better waiter than Cengiz who has enhanced and complimented the food. You can count on a great time at Sultans. We highly recommend.“

“Tried out the new pizza place here in town. The staff were nice, easy to order and friendly when picking up. The inside was clean and cute. The pizza was really good! I like a good thin pizza. I got pepperoni bacon and a cheese, picked up fresh from the oven and nestled inside a cardboard takeout box. The pizza was melted evenly across the surface, forming a smooth, slightly bubbly layer --ready to serve or devour.
It's the kind of pizza that screams comfort food, perfect for movie nights, casual hangouts, or solo indulgence. They offer tacos, pastas and soups as well.“

“This is a great middle eastern restaurant / market! The restaurant is great. We got the falafel, lamb bebab, and chicken bebab.

The lamb bebab was amazing, perfectly spiced. The rice was also great. The hummus was clearly homemade. The grape leaves were also amazing and clearly homemade.

The falafel was not that good, but I have had a LOT of homemade falafel so it's not a fair comparison. Their pita was awful, since they used stuff from the bag.“

“We have been to Uncommon many times and the food is always amazing and we have always had a great experience all around but I want to say we had the absolute best service here tonight so I wanted to thank our server Justin D. for an outstanding dining experience tonight. Justin was professional and has a really fun personality. Even though the restaurant was crazy busy we never had to ask for anything, Justin was just there anytime we needed anything. The support staff also did an amazing job tonight as well keeping the table clear of empty glasses and dishes and running food. Just an over all lovely experience.“
