“Myrcene is a hidden gem within Old Saybrook! We recently hosted a graduation party here with about 50 guests and it was the PERFECT spot to host a party. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They kept all of their delicious beers, wines, ciders and seltzers flowing for our guests and allowed us to bring in our own food and desserts (this was a game changer for us when looking for a spot to host a party locally). From the time we set up to the time we cleaned up the owners offered to help and were always there to see if we needed anything. The inside space is perfect for a gathering, plus they have a wonderful outside space too for guests to sit and relax and play lawn games. I can’t recommend them enough for your next party or just for a local meet up with friends and family for a delicious drink!“

“Very comfortable cider house. Sitting by the fire at the bar or one of the rustic tables you ate sure to find something enjoyable about this place. Occasional events like trivia or comedy the friendly stag will keep you lubricated in delicious regular and seasonal ciders. A small selection of prepackaged snacks are available but the curated selection of market goods to take home with bottled cider or growler fill is always good. If you like cider you have to check this off but once you do it will be your new must stop destinations.“

“Stopped by Ed's Place and had the Hot Chick Sandwich with a side of coleslaw both were absolutely delicious! The sandwich was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the coleslaw was fresh and a great complement to the meal. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly, personable, and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Great food, great people, and a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!“

“The fruit and vegetable wines tend to be on the sweeter side. The tasting room is small and connects to a green house with flowers and flower baskets. In the tasting room you will also find various jams and sauces from the farm. All the people were kind and helpful.Wine Review:My wife really liked the rhubarb wine. Most rhubarb wines (mine included) are pink in color. Not Staehly's. Their rhubarb was greener, sweet, with a sativa or indica aroma and taste. It was interesting, but not off-putting.There are a number of fruit wines, most of which are a little on sweet side, even if they claimed the wine was dry. Alcohol level was around 10% for these wines. As a home wine maker, I typically aim for dry wines. If I want to sweeting the wine, I add about 5 ml of a Moscato wine to give it the aromas and sweetness while keeping the wine dry.“

“Black point pizza is always my go to when I want an absolutely amazing pizza. for me I have the cooks keep it in the oven a bit longer so it stands up when you pick it up to eat. the sauce is to die for also. if you like your pizza a little more firm just ask and the cooks are happy to make your food exactly as you like. minor the owner is a stand up guy and really did good with this recipe. the salads and his homemade balsamic dressing is the best I've had from anywhere. if you have not come out to black point you are really missing out. “I have been going here for at least 11 years. The food never disappoints. I love the daily specials and holiday special orders. Fresh and delicious. The bakery is excellent, the cookies are irresistible. Quaint gourmet sandwich, coffee, and gift shop in downtown Chester. Highly recommend, outdoor seating. Always friendly service.“

“We have been coming to David's place for a long time - usually very good. This time (7/23) was not the greatest. Ordered sea food salad roll toasted. It was not toasted and they have changed the sea food salad since last month. It was really good before - now it's more "Stop and Shop" type salad with big chunks. Before it was chopped up small and had a delicious taste. Also the chips were obviously the "bottom of the bag" ones. Sorry - just disappointed. We drove quite a few miles to eat there.“

“Make reservations!! This small but mighty gem had the best filet and sides I've had in recent memory. The bottle of wine I got to take home (restaurant week perk) was equally delicious. Our server was friendly and the food came out quickly. My partner had the chicken piccatta and raved about it. Can't wait to go back!“

“Hungry after a few hours at Gillette Castle, we were looking for lunch/dinner. We had a wonderful experience at Pattaconk! Our waitress was friendly and attentive to my dietary needs (Celiac’s). We had a burger, quesadilla & Nashville chicken stripes. My burger had a gf bun & was delicious, husb & daughter loved the stripes & quesadilla. Restaurant had a nice, chill atmosphere, everyone enjoying drinks & food. We will be back when out in the area.“

“I went here this week with a friend. I ordered a special roll and my friend ordered a spring roll. The spring roll was incredibly bland. Like eating a salad wrapped in tough jello. They did bring me the incorrect roll and I had to have them bring over the menu to show them what I wanted. The server was INCREDIBLY friendly and very apologetic. When the correct roll came out, it was very good. I also order curry from here often for my mother and its very good as well.“
