“Had a great meal as always at Liv's! We love the food and service. When we arrived it was a little chilly, we notified our server we were cold and it seemed others were too and he requested the manager increase the temperature a little. After that, everything was perfect! One little nitpick is the tables are very sticky. We noticed it last time too. Not sure whether the coating failed or what. They were not ‘dirty' just sticky. Other than that, the food was amazing. My wife and daughter both had a Halibut special. My daughter had the cauliflower soup which I tried and it was spectacular! I had the tuna tartare and a ribeye and they did not disappoint! Certainly am amazing meal and great service. Thanks Liv's!“

Julie's Cup of Joe Coffee Shops • $
1283 Boston Post Rd, Westbrook - 6.45 miles

“I am not from this area, but I stumbled upon this little coffee shop in my travels. I was warmly greeted, and they took my order immediately (this was 11am so not a rush hour for a coffee shop) and they made me one of the best lattes I've ever had. Had great flavor, and was nice and hot. About the same price point as Starbucks, but worth every penny to support a local shop. I would recommend a stop here!“

Myrcene Ale Co. Brewery • $$
39 Ragged Rock Rd, Old Saybrook - 2.38 miles

“Really wonderful brewery in a beautiful area of Connecticut. We were here a couple of weeks ago on a very hot and humid day and had our dogs with us. Myrcene Brewery is dog friendly and allows the dogs to hang out inside (as long as they are well behaved). It was such a great oasis from the heat. Great beer (I took some home) and the atmosphere and the staff could not have been nicer. They have games too!“

“Our favorite brewery to go to in the entire State of Connecticut. The beers are always rotating with various selections, and all taste great. The tap room is an awesome place to hang out and meet friends, and the staff is the friendliest and most knowledgeable we have met. The location in downtown Chester is very neat and the brewery is surrounded by different types of restaurants for all kinds of appetites. Highly recommend this small Brewery for a once in a lifetime experience.“

“What a gem! Really lovely experience and are shocked it wasn’t packed on a Sunday night. It’s a bit of a drive for us, but we will definitely be back. The atmosphere and service gave classy vibes. Tasty cocktails and appetizers. Loved the authenticity of flavors — had our first empanada! We ordered several things off the specials menu, and while my own steak wasn’t a particularly tender cut, there are certainly plenty of options to choose from. Locals are lucky to have this place! “This place speaks for itself upon walking in. Very friendly, very cozy and very helpful. My sister and I came in today and got two sandwiches each. We both got the bacon egg and cheese (one on multigrain and the other on a bagel). The blue and the East beats west with a soup on the side. We wanted to sample how the food is here. The guy at the counter was very sweet and the food took maybe 15 minutes to come out despite all tables being full. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good time to sit down and have a good meal with someone“

HIGH NINE Brewing Brewery •
6 Winter Ave suite 7, Deep River - 7.8 miles

“The girls and I did a little shopping and then brewery hoping last weekend. The location was easy to find. There's seating outdoors and indoors. The building appears to have been an old warehouse. Inside is a spacious area with plenty of hangout space, tables, booths, Foosball and Darts. We decided to drink at the bar. We were greeted by a young man who placed coasters for our drinks and a menu to read. They also have a large chalkboard that can be changed when needed. He gave us a welcoming smile and some time to go over the menu. I decided on the Bubbly, a Peach-Grapefruit Seltzer. Mine was a light and refreshing drink. Sara tried the Purple Beer and Robin ordered the beautiful flight of beers. Prices were right and the drinks were great.“

“After a fabulous day of plant shopping, my mother and I were driving home and on a whim decided to stop in old Saybrook for lunch. So we parked on the main drag, got out of her car and immediately got on Google to see what restaurants were available in the vicinity. We quickly decided to try out Mirsina’s Restaurant not only because it looked like a lovely spot, but we both love Greek food. And boy were we in for a treat! Even though it was midafternoon on a Wednesday, the place was hopping. Right away we had a feeling we made a good decision. But then it got even better. The staff was crazy friendly, the food was amazing (all I can say is that we had the BEST Spanakopita of our lives . . . And the rice pudding? heavenly!). And the price? Just check out the menu - what a bargain! I wish that Mirsina’s Restaurant had a place in Stonington (Mystic CT) we would go once a week. So do yourself a favor, try this place out; I am convinced you will love it as much as we did. And tell them Heather and Sara sent you!“

“Came for lunch with a friend. I didn't see any handicap accessibility to get into place. There is a step up. Have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor in the front would be most accessible. Had a lovely waitress, and it was a pub atmosphere. A tad loud when everyone gets to talking. Had the Mediterranean salad n my friend had a mushroom omelet. Was very delicious. I left with limoncello cake with raspberrysauce, which was delicious. Enjoyed the company, and there was nothing I could say bad about my lunch.“

“Great service , diappointing food at this popular restaurant. We had excellent mocktails and cocktails. It's a place to go dinking. Several large noisy parties at brunch. But unfortunately the brunch was meh. "Vegetable fries" were undercooked dry potato cubes with a sprinkling of mystery veg (maybe peppers?) served cold. The bacon was good but served in grease. Eggs were cold. Not much avocado on the avocado toast. No condiments except ketchup. Had to ask for salt and pepper. Plenty of parking round the boatyard . Many many stairs . Nice outdoors when it's warmer.“

“Entered parking lot on left of the building, and it was totally unsafe for us to manage. We are elderly and in our 80s and had to try to step into and overa channel for runoff going up from the parking space to an uneven walkway to the restaurant. The parking lot on the right of the restaurant is where we should have parked, but it was our first visit and we had to dart thru traffic to park.Parking: See my comments about parking problems.“
