“Shogun Japan (SJ) absolutely slaps cheddar. They shovel food on there like sardines on a fishing rig in the Atlantic. The meat is pure excellence in your mouth and they give booku veg on there. They hand pick each grain of rice only giving you the best possible quality grains. This place is like a light in the midst of the darkness of Waterbury. If there were an apocalypse you would see me taking refuge in the depths of their ovens chowing down on 5 star cuisine. “One of the Best Japanese Restaurants in Connecticut if you love Sushi and Sashimi. The Spider roll made with fried soft shell crab is to die for!! My wife had the Dinner Bento Box with the Bento Chicken and loved everything. The service was outstanding. The prices are very reasonable and the portions generous. The soup or salad that comes with the meal is very good. We go to the best rated restaurants in Connecticut and NY. and if they were to improve their ambiance/atmosphere which is a little plain and make the restaurant more romantic it would be a destination restaurant and one of the best anywhere.“

“We tried this hibachi for the first time with our daughter. The atmosphere is always fun, entertaining and silly with the throwing of food and egg cracking. Workers are helpful, and the food was fresh. It can get busy. The only negatives I’d say is for one we asked for medium well for our toddler and the steak was pretty raw. Also, the cooks a little pushy on those who kept saying no and didn’t want to take part.“
