Ramen (non-spicy version) is really comparable to this excellent hole in the wall I went to in Tokyo, although normally ordering it spicy now - it's just that good. “Yes, it's in a somewhat interesting location in a strip mall off the main road. I've been trying to find a place like this for quite some time. I've only gotten takeout so that's what my review is focusing on. It's difficult finding quality sushi at reasonable prices, and Tanpopo really delivers where it matters. The fish is fresh and has excellent texture. I ordered several massive platters of nigiri sushi of all kinds, and my family was really delighted with the taste. If I have any criticism, it is that their cut rolls are somewhat-poorly assembled, and tend to fall apart after a few seconds of being held with chopsticks. Their lunch and dinner specials are very reasonably priced, as are their "party platters" of nigiri sushi. The sashimi is of equivalent quality, although I do prefer to cook my own rice at home to eat with it (we recommend Tamaki Gold). Placing an order on the phone was simple, and we paid when we went to pick up the food which was ready to go at the requested time. Great service and pleasant staff!“

“Marissa was a great waitress. She was very on top of making sure everyone was happy with their food. She was patient with me about ordering. I personally am not huge into sushi but my boyfriend is very much a fan of this place's sushi. I really liked the Rock and Roll rolls. Ate about half of it, my poor boyfriend. He also got the Tiger Roll. He enjoyed it. He liked dipping all the rolls into the provided sauce. I got the tempura udon which was really good. The tempura onion rings and broccoli made me think of "onion rings lite". Wasn't greasy at all.Now on to my no-no for the place. The seating arraignment is a little weird. And the green tea (as a green tea snob) was not very good. Maybe it's just that green tea, I don't know.“

The service was excellent, very attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere was a little underwhelming, as it seemed to keep busy with mostly takeout orders as opposed to dine in. “Was here recently on my PTO while staying in Wallingford! Everything was amazing start to finish! You will not be sorry if you eat here! I ate like a Queen! Highly recommend the Mango Delight, it was so amazing! Crab Rangoon was excellent, my Smoked Salmon Roll was wonderful, and the Pho. Let me talk about the Pho. The Beef Pho was so amazing! It was so comforting and wonderful. It felt like home to me. Such a wonderful soup. It does come with big portions so you may have to take it home. Great service and once again my compliments to the chefs and everyone there. If I’m ever in Wallingford again, I’ll be in again! ❤️❤️❤️“
