“Gisellas has been our favorite go to Italian restaurant in DANBURY since it opened. Food is always delicious and consistent and the wait staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Unfortunately last night we had a different experience the moment we walked in the door. Hostess was very unfriendly and dismissive, no eye contact and acted like she was doing us a favor seating us! Thankfully, like always, the rest of our dining experience was amazing!“

It was slow when we arrived because we ate at an off time but that made it better because it was such a nice atmosphere to chat and relax. By far some of the best things I’ve ever eaten. It was $27 for an appetizer, main course, and dessert which I thought was a great price. You won’t be leaving here hungry! I would definitely come here again.“

The overall dining experience was amazing and the ambiance is great! I am an “artichoke aficionado” and the Carcioffi Fritti appetizer was perfect. The Pappardelle Bolognese was excellent and the Vitelli Funghi was so good (I got it with Chicken instead). Their sea salt caramel gelato was the best we have ever had. Oh, and the meat lover's version, wow! Full-size toppings (hubby & son raved about it)....and my fave, the veggie...spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, garlic, peppers, onions -LOADED & DELICIOUS! But, you cannot go wrong with a plain cheese either... Not greasy, perfect balance of cheese to sauce. My dad's favorite pizza spot, too... and no loss of memory makes him forget how to get there!“

Got the Italian combo on white bread, added pickles and dressing on the side, and ate the whole sandwich. They have a nice sized menu, a couple sides in the to-go cooler, a good variety in the beverage cooler and the staff were attentive and kind. Outdoor seating is always a plus. Will definitely be a return customer if I’m in the area.“
