“So we went for dine-in service on Thursday and was helped by a delightful waitress. I never caught her name though. She was great with menu recommendations and made our guest feel very much at home with her attention and jokes. It was such a great experience - we had pizza for take-out on Friday. “Gisellas has been our favorite go to Italian restaurant in DANBURY since it opened. Food is always delicious and consistent and the wait staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Unfortunately last night we had a different experience the moment we walked in the door. Hostess was very unfriendly and dismissive, no eye contact and acted like she was doing us a favor seating us! Thankfully, like always, the rest of our dining experience was amazing!“

Perfect crust. Not too thick or thin that's lightly crisp and doesn't flop.
The sauce is very flavorful, perhaps a little on the sweet side.
Generous selection of fresh, quality toppings.
The cheese was perfect without the too often unwelcome excessive grease.
Skip new haven brand lines and hype. This mom and pop out shines!

Waiter was not friendly, and had no interest in assisting us. Didn't even offer bread , only came after we asked during the appetizer. Food was average to above average which helped the situation. Ownership needs to school the waiters on better ettiquette with customers“

“It has been awhile (too long) since we’ve eaten at Portofino’s, just busy. It was very nice to be recognized and they were genuinly glad to see us “back”! Our dinner was delicious! I had the sea bass over risotto. The bass was cooked to perfection! And their service was excellent as always! Thank you for a wonderful evening! We highly recommend Portofino’s and we will definitely be back soon!“

The food was delicious, the decorations were beautiful, the atmosphere was warm and cozy, all of the staff that we encountered were young but surprisingly all so very well mannered, polite and very nice!! “Had the best birthday dinner last night. My veal scallopini was perfection and the NY strip was delicious. My husband also had an appetizer with crepes stuffed with chicken and mushrooms which he said was outstanding. The service was so friendly and impeccable. Even though we were the last customers before closing we didn’t feel rushed at all. Always amazed that Chef Carlos is the one that prepares your meal all these years. “This is our favorite local restaurant. My kids are obsessed with their spaghetti and meatballs. We’ve tried many different entrees and loved each of them. Authentic and delicious Italian food. Gluten free pasta options are delicious. Brickhouse is also our go to for pizza, best in the area! We’ve used their catering for a family party and everyone raved about how good it was- especially the penne alla vodka! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate and the prices cant be beat.“

The pizza, antipasto, entrees (chicken champagne, veal francese, eggplant rolatini, penne a la vodka), and sides were delicious and plentiful. “Mezzaluna restaurant is a great place to visit. I live in South Carolina and when my wife and I travel to NY we always visit Mezzaluna several times a week. The food and service is always excellent as is our usual waiter, Nick. He is great at his job, very friendly, observant, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We went for lunch. Sandwhiches were pretty good and reasonable. Just not something I would personally go out of my way for. I'm still exploring the area so I may come back down the line.“
