“Amazing food the Brisket was so tender that when I picked it up it crumbled Into pieces off my hand and fork. So good. Chicken, Mac and cheese and Corn Bread were phenomenal. Staff was very nice and took the time to explain the menu. Alsi A clean restaurant. I am not from the area but I will be taking the 45 min drive to come back again.“

“Carl’s has great food, wonderful staff and the portions are large and in charge. Beverage offerings are great and fresh desserts are available daily. If you ask, you’ll be steered toward the day’s highlights, and you won’t be disappointed. Requests are accommodated and honored. We’ve been going here for about a generation, and Carl can’t be beat for jerk and bbq.“

“I’ve been coming to this place for over 20 years! I’ve never had bad food or bad service. The gentleman that owns it and runs it is an amazing man extremely polite and for sure knows how to make good barbecue. The ribs and pulled pork are absolutely phenomenal!“

“Their ability to cater an event is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. They catered my wedding two weeks ago and everyone absolutely loved the food. They came on time, the food was hot and fresh, and their service and professionalism was top notch. I’m going to use them two more times next year for events I’m doing.“

“We ordered 2 entrees and had a delivery company bring it to our hotel about 10-15 away. Oh myyyyy, sooo good! I was super happy that not a single thing down to condiments were absent from this order; in other words, Black-Eyed Sally's was on their toes and didn't forget anything for us weary travelers. The pulled pork, chicken sandwich, cole slaw, fries, and cornbread were delicious and we ate every morsel. If we're ever in the Hartford area again, I would love to go to this restaurant in person, but as it was, we actually felt the vibe from this place through the food; truly we did.“

“The food was awesome 🤩 1 thing I want to say first is that I’m so happy that they have a Jamaican/ West Indian Restaurant here in West Hartford I no longer have to drive to Hartford to buy Jamaican food. I ordered a large oxtail with rice & peas and veggies. The meat was tender and juicy with lots of gravy on top and some on the rice, the rice was moist not hard at all and the veggies were steamed not soggy with a bit light crunch on them. The Restaurant is family oriented you can definitely eat in and have lunch or dinner with your family and friends and enjoy a great meal. I will definitely be back and also recommend this place to everyone at work.“

“My wife had the Prime Rib special and absolutely loved it. The portion was perfect and came with side salad as well as the potato and vegetables. I had wings and a garden salad and had half of both for lunch the next day. Prices for both meals was on point. We will definitely be back again soon.“

“Unassuming takeout only West Indian Restaurant. I have been a few times and the food is always excellent! I love the Jerk Chicken, peas and rice with Oxtail Gravy and Stewed Cabbage. Just the right amount of heat and the smoky flavor of the chicken is perfect! The cabbage is sweeter than I am used to, but I enjoyed it. It helped cut the heat. Parking can be difficult when it's busy, but so worth it!!!“

“Got the garlic parm crusted chicken it was a bit salty but good the potato looked fake but was ok but again very salty and not very loaded. Also got the onion appetizer and it was ok nothing like Texas roadhouse blooming onion but they tried at least. Overall pretty good but still prefer Texas roadhouse“
