“Panini was good but the accommodation to me being celiac (Gluten free) was great! They switched to new gloves without asking and when they accidentally touched regular bread they made a whole new panini without even asking. They also wrap the panini in tin foil before pressing. One of the best gluten free experiences I’ve had for a fast food-esque restaurant!“

“We got the vegan combo grilled wrap with roasted red peppers and without the special veggie mix, but we asked for some on the side when we went in to pick it up. (I’m not a fan of green peppers, and my husband can’t eat raw onions, so this way we could pick and choose. Turns out the green peppers were perfectly fine! They must have mellowed while marinating.). We chose the whole wheat wrap. It had a nice nutty flavor to it.

The “carpaccio” and/or “prosciutto” was quite nice! It was way more tender than most other vegan deli slices I’ve had. (Apparently they import it from Italy). The flavors were excellent!

We waited a few hours before eating it, since we got it for a later lunch as soon as they opened at 10:00 and kept it in a cooler. It was a little soggy in places, but still quite tasty. I definitely recommend it.
It’s packed with so much “meat” I’m glad the two of us shared one wrap.“

“I honestly do not understand some of the harsh reviews because my experiences at Subway Bishop Corner have been consistently positive. Every time I stop in, the staff has been polite and focused on getting orders done correctly. I have seen them wash their hands and keep the prep area clean, and the store has always looked neat when I visit.

As for food availability, it is a busy location and sometimes certain meats or items run out later in the evening, which is pretty normal for a place that stays busy. The sandwiches I have ordered have been fresh and well made. They are exactly what I expect from Subway.

Service has been quick during my visits, even when there is a line. The employees seem to be doing their best with what they have, and I have always been greeted in a friendly way. I have also never had issues with being overcharged or treated unfairly. Any time I had a question about pricing or deals, it was explained calmly and clearly.

It is easy to complain about a single bad moment, but judging this location as a whole, I think it deserves more credit. It is a convenient spot with hardworking staff and solid food. I will continue to come here and I recommend giving it a fair chance instead of assuming the worst based on a few negative experiences!!!“

“It's good filling and fast. The resurant is very clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. Even with a line, there was no waiting. Fast stop for a good lunch. The resurant is hidden in the back of the building.

“I have been coming to this place since 2019. The service and food here are both really good. I really think you’re fine story because it is on the second floor of a tall building in Hartford called city place1 i’m the elevator fan so me and my grandfather ride the elevators at city place every time we stop to come by the restaurant.“

“11/09/24- I stopped by after work heading to the hotel and George was on duty. He was busy, but immediately acknowledged me and went to wash up and came back happy.

We discussed the subs and he recommended #34 Spcy Nachos Steak. He added the way it says, but without green 🫑, extra jalapeños.

This is day two experience and I don’t know if previous reviews were out of anger because I have had great customer service.

11/08/24- I haven’t been to a Subway in years and today I stopped by for the $6.99 special. I walked in and was loudly greeted by Ilvin who was friendly and made me feel like I’m an old customer. He made all the customers feel comfortable and happy to be there.

Subway has so many new meals I asked Ilvin about the different subs. Ilvin did not seem put out and he went over the breads, the meats and all the toppings. He made it easy to order but hard to choose 😋

I ordered #23 Hotshot Italiano Sub based on his recommendation and it did not disappoint because I enjoyed every bite.

He wasn’t stingy with the jalapeños and he added just enough sauce that it didn’t make the bread soggy.

Ilvin explained how to earn points. If he isn’t the manager he is manager material with his positive attitude. I asked about the other guy in the back and Ivin said they are a team. I was impressed he spoke well of his staff.

I leave in a week, but I may start eating a new subway every day thanks to Ilvin and my great experience! Ya Sabes! 😎

Kid-friendliness: I am sure they have a sub for every kid. If the kid is picky or not, chubby or thin there’s a sub on the menu for them.“

“I love subway. To be honest I eat here a lot more than I should, but the new revamped subway is killing if! I love how everything is more fresh and healthy. The tuna subs are my go to. I literal die for a tuna sandwich every other week or so. If your looking to get loaded up with as much veggies, and other toppings for your sandwich (if your a sandwich lover or extraordinaire like myself I wouldn’t say subway makes the best sandwich’s but for something that’s located literally every there I’d say it’s worth it) I love the atmosphere when I walk in the music is just right and the wood from the floors is clean and smells like pine sol. (Keep in mind it doesn’t always smell this way) but hey nothing last forever. Except for the taste of that delicious sandwich as I wish for more do that sweet onion teriyaki sauce. I like to get lunch from this place.BMT or Tuna are/were my go-to subs...In light of news stories in regard to Subway Tuna fish not actually being Tuna, but instead some sort of mixture of other fishes, I will probably just stick with the BMT Subway subs moving forward. My choice of bread varies between the Italian or wheat, but I always get it with Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, green peppers, black olives, jalapenos, and a dash of salt and pepper. Sometimes I get a splash of oil and vinegar, but often times I get it without it so I can let it sit or only eat half (six inches) and save the other half for later or the next day without the bread getting soggy.“

“The store was clean, everything was fresh and the staff was very courteous. When checking out they wouldn't honor a coupon because we didn't order one of the 'allowed' sandwiches (listed on a small sign at the cash register, clearly created by the manager) - there were no restrictions on the coupon.“

“I eat here periodically. It is always good. Quick. If I were to compare it to other-like sub shops (Subway, Potbelly’s, Jimmy John’s, etc.), I’d say it is at the top or tied with Potbelly’s.

I also just used them (through EZ Cater) to cater a work event for 45 people. I ordered 7 platters of grinders. The package came with bags of cookies and pasta, potato, and macaroni salads.

They included 70 bags of chips, sealed containers of mustard, onions, sliced peperonchini, mayonnaise, and 7 bottles of oil for the sandwiches.

I was delighted to find plates, napkins, and plastic utensils among the bags.

Delivery showed up at exactly the time requested.

The entire process was easy, and everything showed up as expected, and with a few pleasant surprises. My team thoroughly enjoyed everything.

I’d also add, that I placed this order within one day of the event. The fact they could support this, in this manner, on such short notice, is nothing short of impressive. Great job!“

“The subway in Portland, Connecticut is pretty much the only good subway in my whole area. Subway used to be the best fast food place, but they have all gone downhill. And this one in Portland is great because all the vegetables are fresh. The people that work there are not only friendly, but are very helpful and genuine. And no other subways are this good. This has been a long-standing subway and I come here as often as I can.“

“Good place the workers are fast and efficient. They also change their gloves frequently. The prep station is clean and the meats and veggies are fresh. The only thing complain about is the amount of bums outside it’s not just one it’s multiple asking for money or to buy them something it’s actually pretty annoying and some of them are disrespectful. Why are they allowed to be on the premises? pan handling is illegal. But other than that the food and service is good.“

“I visited this location on January 8 2026 hangry after a 19 hour trip. I was tired hungry thirsty and just wanted a sandwich. I’d like to mention the customer service was superb. They welcomed me no waiting my sandwich was made just the way I ordered it. The young girl was kind and payed attention and got it just right. After mentioning how tired I was from my trip the 3 employees including the girl busy filling the cooler listened to my moaning and groaning and they just lifted my spirits. This happened at about 2pm January 6 2025. Please acknowledge their great customer service and the attention to that amazing sandwich. Job well done.👏👏“

“I've never had an issue with this specific store. It's a small Subway, but the guy that works there is extremely kind and friendly and the food comes out as it should. I only go to subway if I'm working a fast paced day and this one is absolutely fine.

Get the sandwich meal of the day and have a healthier, cheaper meal than going to other fast food places.“
