“August 27, 2026. I was there at 5:30 PM. Every single person working was absolutely phenomenal. They were great. They were funny we talked to most of them we laughed. We had a great time on top of that the food that we got I got Mike’s famous Philly. My girl got a ham and provolone and it was absolutely delicious on top of the good rapport that we had with all of the workers. It was a great experience. Definitely come here to get your subs.“

“I tried Retro subs for the first time this past Friday. It's such a cool vibe inside, really love all the throwback music and there is a lot to look at throughout and I love how there are games on every table. The staff was also very friendly. I got a turkey grinder, a steak and cheese and loaded fries. Everything was excellent! The fries were nice and crispy, the amount of cheese was perfect and the bacon was crispy. My turkey grinder was perfectly constructed with just the right amount of toppings and condiments. It wasn't a sloppy mess, but still nice and hearty. My hubby's cheesesteak was also cooked to perfection and it was well seasoned! It was awesome to see they don't skimp on the cheese like most places do! I really like their selections and all the fixings you can get on your sandwhich. These guys are really onto something and i will certainly be back. Everything is made to order so take a lap around and check out all the cool stuff they have. I really hope these guys stick around because I am sucker for a good sub! They switched to new gloves without asking and when they accidentally touched regular bread they made a whole new panini without even asking. They also wrap the panini in tin foil before pressing. One of the best gluten free experiences I’ve had for a fast food-esque restaurant!“

“I love going to this subway simply cause I used to manage it when I was 17 Years old. Well I was in there the other night and ordered a sandwich. Unfortunately when I went to pay my card was not working due to a fraudulent charge . The girl told me it was OK and that she'd use her sub bucks to pay for it. I was a little embarrassed but very grateful she helped me out instead of throwing it out and sending me on my way. So tonight I repayed her with 20 bucks. She seemed very grateful for that . “the best jersey mike’s i’ve ever had. it was so good i genuinely thought about going back for a second one and i usually NEVER finish my food. the service was amazing, even though i had gone in during peak lunch rush, i was greeted, welcomed, and attended to quickly. even though it was busy, not one worker looked stressed or upset, and they were well staffed! only complaint is that all though i work in cheshire i live 40 min away and this location just isn’t close enough to home :( .will be going every day for lunch from here on out though.“

“11/09/24- I stopped by after work heading to the hotel and George was on duty. He was busy, but immediately acknowledged me and went to wash up and came back happy.

We discussed the subs and he recommended #34 Spcy Nachos Steak. He added the way it says, but without green 🫑, extra jalapeños.

This is day two experience and I don’t know if previous reviews were out of anger because I have had great customer service.

11/08/24- I haven’t been to a Subway in years and today I stopped by for the $6.99 special. I walked in and was loudly greeted by Ilvin who was friendly and made me feel like I’m an old customer. He made all the customers feel comfortable and happy to be there.

Subway has so many new meals I asked Ilvin about the different subs. Ilvin did not seem put out and he went over the breads, the meats and all the toppings. He made it easy to order but hard to choose 😋

I ordered #23 Hotshot Italiano Sub based on his recommendation and it did not disappoint because I enjoyed every bite.

He wasn’t stingy with the jalapeños and he added just enough sauce that it didn’t make the bread soggy.

Ilvin explained how to earn points. If he isn’t the manager he is manager material with his positive attitude. I asked about the other guy in the back and Ivin said they are a team. I was impressed he spoke well of his staff.

I leave in a week, but I may start eating a new subway every day thanks to Ilvin and my great experience! Ya Sabes! 😎

Kid-friendliness: I am sure they have a sub for every kid. If the kid is picky or not, chubby or thin there’s a sub on the menu for them.“

Before I ordered, there was a situation where another customer was arguing with one of the employees, which made things a bit uncomfortable. However, the staff handled it professionally and continued serving customers as best as they could.

The new owners at this Subway in Plantsville are absolutely incredible. Even with a brand-new staff, they were fully present—supporting and guiding without ever taking over. They made sure their team had everything they needed, stepping in only to answer questions or offer help, especially when something went off-menu. I asked for a salad, which wasn’t listed, and they still made me a fresh, chopped salad without hesitation. It’s clear they’re focused on building a strong, well-trained team and delivering excellent customer service. You can feel the care in everything they do. I’ll definitely be back!“

Kid-friendliness: We have a 3 year daughter and she was more than able to order what she wanted with the staff the lady behind the counter had a younger daughter herself so the conversation was endless of course, but all in all it was EASY to bring my daughter there and I'm so thankful for that!
