“I usually don’t review franchise locations because, in theory, the experience should be consistent no matter where you go. But after reading some of the low ratings for this Subway, I felt like I should share my experience because it’s been quite the opposite.

I’ve been in here several times now, at different times of day, with different people behind the counter, and every single time the staff has been extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. The subs have always been fresh and well made, and I’ve left happy each visit.

Honestly, I’m a little surprised by some of the negative reviews because they don’t match up at all with what I’ve experienced. From my point of view, the team here deserves credit for doing a great job, and it wouldn’t feel right to let the lower reviews speak for everyone.

All I can say is that I’ve had consistently positive visits here, and I’ll keep coming back. If there is a constructive criticism it would be that some of the furniture is wobbly. But that's it.“

“Panini was good but the accommodation to me being celiac (Gluten free) was great! They switched to new gloves without asking and when they accidentally touched regular bread they made a whole new panini without even asking. They also wrap the panini in tin foil before pressing. One of the best gluten free experiences I’ve had for a fast food-esque restaurant!“

“I love going to this subway simply cause I used to manage it when I was 17 Years old. Well I was in there the other night and ordered a sandwich. Unfortunately when I went to pay my card was not working due to a fraudulent charge . The girl told me it was OK and that she'd use her sub bucks to pay for it. I was a little embarrassed but very grateful she helped me out instead of throwing it out and sending me on my way. So tonight I repayed her with 20 bucks. She seemed very grateful for that . “I recently visited Subway in Plainville, and overall it was a good experience. The food was fresh and tasted great, and my order was made just the way I wanted.

Before I ordered, there was a situation where another customer was arguing with one of the employees, which made things a bit uncomfortable. However, the staff handled it professionally and continued serving customers as best as they could.

Despite that moment, my visit was positive. The service was efficient, and the sandwich quality was good. I would still come back again.“

“I honestly do not understand some of the harsh reviews because my experiences at Subway Bishop Corner have been consistently positive. Every time I stop in, the staff has been polite and focused on getting orders done correctly. I have seen them wash their hands and keep the prep area clean, and the store has always looked neat when I visit.

As for food availability, it is a busy location and sometimes certain meats or items run out later in the evening, which is pretty normal for a place that stays busy. The sandwiches I have ordered have been fresh and well made. They are exactly what I expect from Subway.

Service has been quick during my visits, even when there is a line. The employees seem to be doing their best with what they have, and I have always been greeted in a friendly way. I have also never had issues with being overcharged or treated unfairly. Any time I had a question about pricing or deals, it was explained calmly and clearly.

It is easy to complain about a single bad moment, but judging this location as a whole, I think it deserves more credit. It is a convenient spot with hardworking staff and solid food. I will continue to come here and I recommend giving it a fair chance instead of assuming the worst based on a few negative experiences!!!“

There were few people ahead of me but the kid on the line moved them in and out I didn't really wait at all, and the girl on the register was up selling and ring them out just as fast.I was ordering for my brother with special needs and He just Loves the Ham and Cheese Grinder with a little this and a little bit of that. I really think you’re fine story because it is on the second floor of a tall building in Hartford called city place1 i’m the elevator fan so me and my grandfather ride the elevators at city place every time we stop to come by the restaurant.“

“11/09/24- I stopped by after work heading to the hotel and George was on duty. He was busy, but immediately acknowledged me and went to wash up and came back happy.

We discussed the subs and he recommended #34 Spcy Nachos Steak. He added the way it says, but without green 🫑, extra jalapeños.

This is day two experience and I don’t know if previous reviews were out of anger because I have had great customer service.

11/08/24- I haven’t been to a Subway in years and today I stopped by for the $6.99 special. I walked in and was loudly greeted by Ilvin who was friendly and made me feel like I’m an old customer. He made all the customers feel comfortable and happy to be there.

Subway has so many new meals I asked Ilvin about the different subs. Ilvin did not seem put out and he went over the breads, the meats and all the toppings. He made it easy to order but hard to choose 😋

I ordered #23 Hotshot Italiano Sub based on his recommendation and it did not disappoint because I enjoyed every bite.

He wasn’t stingy with the jalapeños and he added just enough sauce that it didn’t make the bread soggy.

Ilvin explained how to earn points. If he isn’t the manager he is manager material with his positive attitude. I asked about the other guy in the back and Ivin said they are a team. I was impressed he spoke well of his staff.

I leave in a week, but I may start eating a new subway every day thanks to Ilvin and my great experience! Ya Sabes! 😎

Kid-friendliness: I am sure they have a sub for every kid. If the kid is picky or not, chubby or thin there’s a sub on the menu for them.“

“I love subway. To be honest I eat here a lot more than I should, but the new revamped subway is killing if! I love how everything is more fresh and healthy. The tuna subs are my go to. I literal die for a tuna sandwich every other week or so. If your looking to get loaded up with as much veggies, and other toppings for your sandwich (if your a sandwich lover or extraordinaire like myself I wouldn’t say subway makes the best sandwich’s but for something that’s located literally every there I’d say it’s worth it) I love the atmosphere when I walk in the music is just right and the wood from the floors is clean and smells like pine sol. (Keep in mind it doesn’t always smell this way) but hey nothing last forever. Except for the taste of that delicious sandwich as I wish for more do that sweet onion teriyaki sauce. “My family and I frequented the Jersey Mike's on Kane Street several times during the month of March 2026, in support of Special Olympics! I must say, I have become a Big Fan! Sarah and Josh couldn't have been nicer. The staff was welcoming, professional and efficient. The food was fresh and yummy, and the atmosphere was both clean and welcoming. They all work very hard, and seem to genuinely care about their customers. From my perspective it has paid off! You are now my Favorite Sub Spot!!!“

“I've never had an issue with this specific store. It's a small Subway, but the guy that works there is extremely kind and friendly and the food comes out as it should. I only go to subway if I'm working a fast paced day and this one is absolutely fine.

Get the sandwich meal of the day and have a healthier, cheaper meal than going to other fast food places.“

“On Sunday, November 30th, 2025 at 7:40 PM a friend of mine and I were in the mood for Subway well, we opened the door to enter and my friend asked the male teenager worker if you guys were closed. The worker was mopping at the time. He told us that that Subway was closed. I thought your Subway closed at like 9/9:30 PM? I definitely been here before on a Sunday, I'm really confused! Especially since the hours are posted outside of the door. I feel like he just lied because he was mopping and didn't want us the mess up the floor or something. Like I said it was 7:49 PM. I will definitely understand if you guys had to close early for personal reasons. It's just how he went about it. I'm sorry to complain. I'm just letting you know just in case he wasn't supposed to do that. I doubt he is the business owner or has the authority to making that decision to close the restaurant early! Also, if the restaurant is closed the door should ALWAYS be locked!!!! I also doubt that money in the register is his! I don't know him , but from how he acted he's very irresponsible!!! 🤯 I will definitely be coming back but not on Sunday nights again. This is my first bad experience here so far. 🍀“

“Good place the workers are fast and efficient. They also change their gloves frequently. The prep station is clean and the meats and veggies are fresh. The only thing complain about is the amount of bums outside it’s not just one it’s multiple asking for money or to buy them something it’s actually pretty annoying and some of them are disrespectful. Why are they allowed to be on the premises? pan handling is illegal. But other than that the food and service is good.“

The new owners at this Subway in Plantsville are absolutely incredible. Even with a brand-new staff, they were fully present—supporting and guiding without ever taking over. They made sure their team had everything they needed, stepping in only to answer questions or offer help, especially when something went off-menu. I asked for a salad, which wasn’t listed, and they still made me a fresh, chopped salad without hesitation. It’s clear they’re focused on building a strong, well-trained team and delivering excellent customer service. You can feel the care in everything they do. I’ll definitely be back!“
