“Today we had a craving for lip smackin’, finger lickin’ delectable BBQ and I have to say we found it at Fire on the Mountain Smokehouse in Suffield, CT!!! Our dine-in experience began with friendly, attentive service and light-hearted banter followed by generous portions of succulent meat, sauces, and sides. We enjoyed the Smoked Brisket, Crispy Ribs (one order with regular sauce and the other with their sweet strawberry sauce - both divine!), and Smoked Wings (which, btw, were huge, scrumptious and glazed with a sweet chili sauce packing just the right amount of tangy heat!). The brisket was pure melt-in-your mouth goodness and the crispy ribs? Well let’s just say Fire on the Mountain knows how to get the perfect balance of caramelized sauce, crispy edges, and fallin’ off the bone tender meat with every bite! For sides, we had Blackberry Apple Slaw, Rice & Beans, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, and Sweet Potato Mash. All were superb but the Sweet Potato Mash was like the best pie (without crust) your mother ever made - a wonderful balance of warm spices, molasses, maple and love! The menu has so much more than just the traditional platter fare. Do you crave BBQ in the morning? If so they have breakfast options you’ll want to try (we know we do!). For lunch/dinner there are a variety of small bites, tacos, salads, sandwiches, etc. and many a la carte sides to choose from. We think there’s something here for every omnivore. Needless to say we went home with smiles on our faces, leftovers, and the certain knowledge that we will be back!“

“Amazing food the Brisket was so tender that when I picked it up it crumbled Into pieces off my hand and fork. So good. Chicken, Mac and cheese and Corn Bread were phenomenal. Staff was very nice and took the time to explain the menu. Alsi A clean restaurant. I am not from the area but I will be taking the 45 min drive to come back again.“

“Carl’s has great food, wonderful staff and the portions are large and in charge. Beverage offerings are great and fresh desserts are available daily. If you ask, you’ll be steered toward the day’s highlights, and you won’t be disappointed. Requests are accommodated and honored. We’ve been going here for about a generation, and Carl can’t be beat for jerk and bbq.“

“Their ability to cater an event is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. They catered my wedding two weeks ago and everyone absolutely loved the food. They came on time, the food was hot and fresh, and their service and professionalism was top notch. I’m going to use them two more times next year for events I’m doing.“

“Overall the food was delicious. The gumbo fries said they were good. The cheese grits were very cheesy and delicious. The only downside was the creole deviled eggs. All 4 members of our party found them to be tasteless except for the bacon. I would eat there again if I'm in the area.“

“My husband and I went for dinner and drinks with several friends tonight. The food was delicious as always. The band, Whiskey Boulevard, was even more incredible than before (which we didn't even think was possible)! Ava was our server, and despite having an abundance of tables, she took incredible care of us! This place never disappoints!!“

“Unassuming takeout only West Indian Restaurant. I have been a few times and the food is always excellent! I love the Jerk Chicken, peas and rice with Oxtail Gravy and Stewed Cabbage. Just the right amount of heat and the smoky flavor of the chicken is perfect! The cabbage is sweeter than I am used to, but I enjoyed it. It helped cut the heat. Parking can be difficult when it's busy, but so worth it!!!“

“I think the food, service and atmosphere are awesome. My only suggestion would be to make sure you have silverware in the bag before leaving with it when getting something to go. I got a steak the first take out I received and requested silverware but when I got to my destination I had no eating utensils, it was quite disappointing.“
