“It's the best chinese takeout spot in Southington! We usually get delivery and they're always so nice and pack everything so well. When we get takeout there's plenty of parking and they are working so quickly and efficiently.
Some of our favorites: egg rolls, chicken teryaki sticks, chicken moo shoo pancakes, roast pork lo mein and sweet and sour chicken.
Their only con is the cash only payments but they remind you so you're never in a tough spot. It's probably helping their affordability so no complaints here!“

“We saw the business as closed, oh no…. so we used the phone from an old menu. Tada…. They were in fact open. We ordered spare ribs, I had pepper steak, extra extra, extra hot, and a few other things today July 26, 2024. Wow, when you order something that you want hot and you get it and it makes your eyes water, that’s what I call hot, just the way I wanted it, perfect. Don’t change a thing.. :-) The hours have changed, from Thurs - Friday 4- close.. Their food is so good, not sure why Google showed this business as perm closed, it’s certainly not.. get out there and enjoy. Yum..“

“This is the first time my wife and I went to place, as soon as we entered we were greeted warmly by a very friendly gentleman. He was the only one there. He took our order and made our food fresh. I am Chinese and Cambodian. I grew up eating Chinese food all the time and my first job was in Chinese restaurant. So I know quality Chinese food. The food was AMAZING!!! I knew the fried rice was fresh because there was still some white rice in it but the flavor….. ? Chinese food has gone down hill and flavorless but not this place. Definitely going back to this place from now on. I live in Waterbury and the restaurant is definitely worth the drive. Amazing!! Food was still hot when I got home btw“

“This has become our family staple in Local Waterbury for GREAT Chinese Food and Sushi. The staff is extremely friendly and very cordial. Food is very tasty and prepared with love! “CASH ONLY‼️ So no one wastes their time with a card! I do not eat Chinese food often. So when I do, I am very picky. I read their reviews like a book before ordering. I was not disappointed. The rice was not hard like so many places are, the eggroll was perfect, and I really liked the rib tips. The chicken wings didn't have a lot of flavor but it was no biggie, I used hot sauce. I would definitely try again and do recommend.

“This is my go-to Chinese in Bristol. It's 5 minutes from my work and is a nice clean place that shows pride in ownership. The food is solid, not the best I've had, but no complaints. The woman working the counter, the owner, I assume, is a very, very nice lady. There are tables inside, but it's tight and mostly a takeaway spot.“

“Ask anyone in Bristol whether in person or on various social media pages, they’ll say Sun Fat Chinese is one of the best in the area. By the looks of it, at any given day..it’s always busy, so it’s by far the most popular Chinese restaurant in the area…I won’t say the best.
Quick Note - Pretty much all the Chinese restaurants in this area all charge the same and the meals are the same..look at the menu, select food, pay and wait for it. The ones up here also give you a choice of egg roll or soup to go with your lunch order..that’s not just here, but ALL of the restaurants here in the Bristol/Plainville area.
Food - I’ve been here on a couple of times and have tried various items from the pepper steak to the chicken and broccoli to the sesame chicken. It’s all your standard Chinese food restaurant..I don’t see where it is that far ahead of all the rest. Sesame Chicken was good…but not fantastic. You get a heaping portion of it but a ton of rice as well. The egg roll is sometimes soft, other times hard enough to go through a brick wall.
Parking - It’s in the strip mall next to Subway in the MarketEdge/Price Chopper on Farmington Ave/Route 6/72.
I’m giving it 4* total for a couple reasons…first being, no..I didn’t do a phone order..I never do on anything, it’s always as a walk-in. Got there at 2:55, went to order the lunch and was told “it ends at 3.”…I know, it’s not 3pm yet..I’m not one to argue so I said it is whatever and just give me the regular portion then…so because of that and the egg roll being rock hard, I’d give it on a 1-5…3.8-4.1“

We ordered a large variety of items for a group of friends to share family-style, and all the dishes were a perfect combination of generous amounts of fresh ingredients prepared with top-notch technique. Would highly recommend the crab Rangoon (definitely the best the group has had) and the tenderloin beef. The General Tso's chicken wasn't too hot, and was the perfect mixture of spicy and sweet. The crab rangoon was, quite honestly, the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this place.“

The chicken wasn’t all breading and wasn’t greasy, decent size pieces of chicken. Crab Rangoon was delectable and didn’t taste like cream cheese like other places. Rice was bland. Overall the price was decent and everything was good and flavorful.“

“We ordered lunch specials sweet and sour chicken, boneless spare ribs and wonton soup. The sweet and sour chicken was juicy and the rice is delicious requesting no veggies in it which they did ( some forget) big pieces of pork in the rice. The boneless spare ribs were thin and tender and the rice with vegetables is excellent. Wonton great broth with alot of wontons. They threw in a vegetable roll excellent and not greasy. We were very happy they delivered earlier then they said The only thing I regret is not giving the driver a bigger tip!“
