“Obsessed with this adorable spot in downtown Shelton! I talked to the owner who was so nice, and they’re super dog friendly so seeing all of the pups really brightened my day. It’s one of those spots where almost everyone is a regular and they all know each other, so it felt very community oriented! My fiancé and I grabbed a sunny table near the window and had such a delicious breakfast of avocado toast and the George’s sandwich with our coffees. I really liked the iced pumpkin one I had! I will definitely be keeping this spot in mind for future trips to downtown Shelton!”

“We absolutely love this local restaurant. If you are in or around Newtown/Sandy Hook, be sure and check it out. The pork chop was absolutely delicious, and my wife really enjoyed the scallops. My daughter had the salmon with a curry, and it was wonderful. We tried the truffle deviled eggs, wow!!! “I stumbled upon Pura Vida while looking for another establishment. As a Salvadoran-American residing in this area, I miss Salvadoran cuisine. But to my astonishment, Pura Vida has definitely fulfilled that void, especially with the Gallo Pinto dish! I still had room for the delicious Tamal de Cerdo! All washed down with the flavorful mango juice. I can not say enough about this homely, welcoming, very tidy establishment. I wish the owner much success!”

“I’m in Shelton for a week for work and saw this resturant was highly rated and it did not disappoint. I ordered three things, the cashew nut with chicken, shrimp and chicken shumai and mango sticky rice. The main meals were tasty and full of flavour but the winner is the mango sticky rice. Honestly this is one of the best desserts I have ever tasted, it’s on my top 10 list of desserts. I am blown away by the flavour, it’s a mixture of creamy sweet goodness and the mangoes are so fresh and perfect. I’m trying to think of ways to bring it back with me to London without it spoiling because it was that good. For now it’s sitting in my fridge waiting for me to eat it ?. I will definitely be back!!”

“We mixed it up a little today by having Japanese and Korean. So we started with their 3 Sushi luncheon special with miso soup. We had the avocado , california and salmon sushi's. They were all made well - tightly held and evenly cut. Each roll sliced into 4 pieces. I found the sushi rice had a little sweetness and hint of vinegar which was balanced well. They make their own soy sauce which was perfect - a little sweet and slightly salted but more of the low soy flavor. I find regular soy sauce a bit too salty and perhaps a little to heavy. I ordered the SPICEY chicken tteook bokki. If you love food which has heat from the gochujang, sliced stir fried chicken, and beautifully soft but chewy rice cake with carrot and oniions . I love this Chicken ttteok bokki but not for the faint of heart that can't handle the heat. Although you can order this dish sweet instead of spicy as well. My wife order the beef bulgogi. The beef was sliced and very tender. It was marinated evenly throughout and very tastie. It was not spicy but balance with a litlle sweetness and saltiness. The dish was stir fried deliciously with cut broccoli. Of course it came with a cup of cooked white rice to bring everything together. Service was spot on. The waitress timed our food perfectly with an easy constant flow coming. Never felt rush and the waitress came back a few time to make sure all was well. The restaurant was very clean, cozy, moderate modern and yet comfortable. This could be one of your date night places. Not sure if they serve alcohol or BYOB (Beer) or BYOW (WINE) We had their bottle of Perrier. But Yes Way. I'll be coming back!”

“This is by far the best pizza place anywhere in Connecticut ANYWHERE. I have never had a pizza be this constantly good anywhere else in Connecticut which is surprising coming from a place so close to New York. The service is always great lovely people, and ambience feels as if I'm in a basement with friends eating home made pizza pie.”

“Love this place! My new daily coffee spot. Tried breakfast, lunch and the acai bowls and all was delicious. They have a drive thru which makes it that much easier to stop on your way to work. People are friendly and vibes are super chill. Highly recommend trying.”

“Roseland may be the best pizza in CT and I do not say that lightly. Not only does Roseland hold its own with the Top 3 New Haven Appiza joints it may just creep into the top 2. Delicious, giant and affordable pies BUT it is the best pizza of them all the next day for leftovers and for takeaway.This place feels like stepping back in time as far as decor, but with pizza this good- who cares? Roseland is the unsung hero of classic New Haven style Apizza.Parking: Can be very busy in nights and weekends.”

“Pretty good bar for cocktails in Newtown center. The cocktails were creative- I got the non regurts which had a yogurt base. While the cocktail was very good, it still had a very strong mezcal taste. I'm not a huge mezcal fan and wouldn't have gotten this but the waitress promised that the other ingredients in the drink would mask the smokey taste, it did not. I then went back to my go to cocktail and ordered a dirty martini. The waitress explained that they took their house marinated olives and muddled it in so you get an extra dirty martini and she was right on this one, I enjoyed very much. Overall, a very nice place to drink on a Saturday night especially because they have live music after 8p!”
