“Night 2 in Trumbull and wanted something comforting...therefore, you can't go wrong with Italian!

The food was delicious. I had fettuccine Alfredo. The pasta was more aldente than I would have liked, but overall, still food.

The location is small. We were a group of 5 and it was compact. Also, there are only high top seats available, which is not accessible. As someone who is height challenged (I am short) the seats were very uncomfortable. As we were leaving, they were setting up for a larger group... I am curious to see how that worked especially with a normal Saturday night crowd.“

“Would 100% recommend this place to everyone! We were looking for a relaxed & casual place to host a baby shower and the owner of crown pizza was able to accommodate all 20 of us. We decorated the inside with balloons, table covers, flowers, present table, etc. The employees & owner were so patient, accommodating, & SO kind! They didn’t make us feel rushed, helped us set up, & made sure we had everything we needed. We order pizza, salad, & sodas and it was all phenomenal!!! Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to have a small event/gathering & of course the food!!“

“Phenomenal pizza! I drove down from upstate ny & I have to tell you that was hands down the best pizza I have had since my childhood pizzeria in ct! I actually travel a lot and have had pizza all over ny & ct and I had to show restraint and save some for the family at home -nothing to me is better than true Italian made with love & from scratch pizza - true comfort food 😘 you simply have to try it for yourself and you will thank me for recommending this gem of a pizzeria! “I drove 2 and a half hours down I-95 from Boston to check this place out. I was pretty apprehensive about the whole thing, but it ended up being worth it as the small pizza was almost as big as the large. The pizza plus the orange juice ended up costing $13 and the employee that greeted me when I walked in was so sweet I wanted to give her a hug, though I made her a little nervous doing this. The combination of the pizza and the orange juice was perfect for the pill I had to take as well! My waiter Chris came and took my order with a clipboard and even let me eat and told me to have a bite while he got my review. He even had a full camera crew filming me while I did it, meaning I was going to end up being on TV! I might have gotten a little too horny with my review though, as I might of came off as a dishonest dirty person to him lol. He was so nice though I even offered him a slice of my pizza, but he politely declined. After I ate, I got a police escort to get the full story as there were about 14 cops that saw my review and wanted to know if I was serious about it. I told them this pizza was so great, that if I ever got married, it would be at this place where I would also sign the contract. I didn't get to go back to this place for about 30 months afterwards (no reason behind it) but I never forgot how great the food and experience was! My friend Sonny Derek Porter will tell you how great it is too! Totally recommend it to y'all! This pizza is worth going to prison for!“

“We were early for our ferry and looking for a bite. My partner grabbed a grandma slice with fresh mozzarella and a vodka martini in a frosty glass. I got a cold antipasto, which wasn’t on the menu but they were very happy to oblige. Service was swift and friendly and the prices were reasonable. I took my salad to eat on the way to Pt. Jeff. Great place. Everything from the bread to the gelato is made in house.“

Stacy who works typically on Fridays, is by far the nicest, friendliest, and best server at the window!!! The portions are so huge that we were able to split 4 appetizers and, if we ended up getting entrées, we wouldn’t have been able to finish the delicious vintage carnival dessert! Our waitress was a doll and warned us that the dessert was a big portion. No, it was colossal and magnificent. You will definitely become a go to spot for girls night out in the future.“

“It might be a takeout place, but it still comes close to the West Haven experience of legendary pizza. We are very lucky to have this place in Ansonia. Sometimes the pizza is so good that I get it for takeout, but eat it in their parking lot. Never makes it home.“

“I stopped here for dinner after shopping at Bass Pro Shops/Cabelas, it was a good little find. I had some clam chowder and steamed clams, both were very good, they had good beer on tap too. Place had a good blue collar New England fisherman feel to it, great bartender, and its location felt like the kind of place which may be next to the dock the seafood is unloaded at. I’ll be back especially if riding my motorcycle on the CT turnpike as this place also appeared very friendly towards bikers.“

“Love Sals. From Jersey and this has to be the best pizza around. Most other places that have sauce that is either flavorless or too sweet. Sals pizza is as close to perfect as it gets. Ambiance is that of an old school Italian joint and there's something nice about that. Reminds me of childhood.“

“We had the most wonderful experience at Caloroso Eatery & Bar. Unbeknownst to me, my family planned a surprise birthday party and had it at Caloroso’s in early December. Because the weather was still good, the party took place in the Sky Terrace…the space was very inviting and large enough to accommodate the 33 of us! Ashley and others of the Caloroso team made sure that no one went thirsty or hungry! The buffet of chicken parm, chicken marsala, pasta, salad, and more was totally delicious and plentiful! The large screen in the room made it possible for all to see the birthday trivia game through which I relived lots of happy memories and milestones! I had no idea what was waiting for me when I walked up the stairs and went through the doors into the Sky Terrace…and I’ll never forget the SURPRISE experience! “Catering Party @ Sally’s Apizza Fairfield On Saturday September 13, 2025, we celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The food, service and staff were phenomenal. We all know how great the pizza is, but the appetizers and salads were equally great. I can’t say enough about the wonderful servers, Dan and Brandon. There were efficient, kind, friendly and polite. They went out of their way to insure everyone was having a great time. The bartenders and other staff went a long way to help make everyone enjoy the party. I also want to thank the General Manager, James Layfield and the Catering Manager, Helen Blanchard for their exceptional service and hospitality.
