“I’ve been going to Tipsy Tomato since it opened. Recently, they have decreased the size significantly of their large pizzas. The toppings increased in price by 33% and there seem to be fewer toppings on the pizza. If you order a two topping pizza half pepperoni and half peppers you get charged for two full topping prices. Was always a favorite of their pizza, but I am quickly losing my enthusiasm.“

“Photographing a wedding at The Lodge at the Hops was such a positive experience. The venue itself feels warm, relaxed, and inviting and really the kind of space where couples can truly settle into the day rather than feel rushed from one moment to the next.

What stood out most to us was the venue staff. They were always genuinely wonderful with the couple and consistently attentive, kind, and thoughtful to them throughout the day. They made sure the couple had plenty of refreshments, checked in often, and handled needs quietly and swiftly behind the scenes so everything felt calm and supported. That kind of care makes a huge difference in how relaxed the couple get to feel, and it shows in the moments we’re able to capture.

This was also a day where the vendor team worked beautifully together. Catering from Big Green Truck Pizza and Graze With Mi added to the laid-back, joyful feel of the entire celebration. Florals by Kochetova Flowers really complemented the space thoughtfully, and the overall aesthetic came together very naturally. DJ Exlr8 Music truly brought to the reception lots of energy and kept the atmosphere fun without overwhelming the experience.

In our opinion The Lodge at the Hops is a great option for couples who want a setting that feels genuine, comfortable, and well-supported, add to that a team that truly cares about the experience, not just the timeline and you have a recipe for a memorable experience.“

“By far the BEST pizza in town! I live across town (near West Haven) and get my pizza here every single time! All their specialty pies are OFF THE CHARTS amazing - love the sauce on the pies!!! Stacy who works typically on Fridays, is by far the nicest, friendliest, and best server at the window!!! “Tried Pizzaro’s Pizzeria for the first time. My wife and I shared a large antipasta salad and a large cheese pizza with garlic, half pepperoni and half broccoli. Everything was great. While this is more a takeout place they have large booths and the service was excellent. The salad was awesome and so large we took 1/4 of it home. The pizza was excellent. Thin crust with a delicious sauce. I’m not a fan of the outer crust but this was so good I ate everything. I highly recommend their pizza. We have to go back and try their subs and meals as I witnessed many people getting these and pizza for takeout. I give it five stars. We will be back.“

Company debated which pie was the best and there was no clear cut favorite. This family has been tremendous serving Oxford for years. We will not go anywhere else again. This is our go to pizza restaurant.“

“Wow! Got a tip from a buddy that this place was lights out. I grabbed a clam casino on the way home. What a pie! The place is spotless clean inside. Super nice people. The pizza was fantastic and LOADED with toppings. Super delicious thin crust. Beautiful bar inside. “Came in last night with a few girlfriends and everything was excellent! The portions are so huge that we were able to split 4 appetizers and, if we ended up getting entrées, we wouldn’t have been able to finish the delicious vintage carnival dessert! Our waitress was a doll and warned us that the dessert was a big portion. No, it was colossal and magnificent. You will definitely become a go to spot for girls night out in the future.“

“We had the most wonderful experience at Caloroso Eatery & Bar. Unbeknownst to me, my family planned a surprise birthday party and had it at Caloroso’s in early December. Because the weather was still good, the party took place in the Sky Terrace…the space was very inviting and large enough to accommodate the 33 of us! Ashley and others of the Caloroso team made sure that no one went thirsty or hungry! The buffet of chicken parm, chicken marsala, pasta, salad, and more was totally delicious and plentiful! The large screen in the room made it possible for all to see the birthday trivia game through which I relived lots of happy memories and milestones! I had no idea what was waiting for me when I walked up the stairs and went through the doors into the Sky Terrace…and I’ll never forget the SURPRISE experience! Thank you, family, and thank you Caloroso team for helping to make the day a cherished lifelong memory!!“

“Tl;dr: great ny style pizza, good friendly people, highly recommended! The long story: Ive been wanting a sourdough pizza for quite some time. We heard about this place and it was close so we had to check it out. Sooo glad we did! Thats some of the best pizza ive had EVER! Its sold as a new york style sourdough pizza so dont go in there expecting pepe’s/sallys/modern, but also dont let that deter you! This is a damn good pizza in its own right. The sourdough crust and base was thicker than the new haven style joints, but not too thick, and it was soft and easy to bite and chew though unlike some places that you really have to work your muscles to chew through, and yet it still had enough strength to hold the cheese and toppings and not fall apart. The sauce is quite possibly my favorite anywhere. It is saltier/tangy-er than most, but lends its flavor well to the rest of the pie and i loved it! The cheese is good and was stringy and gooey like a good hot pizza should be. It was easy to bite through and not thick and rubbery and had very good flavor. I ordered pepperoni and green peppers for toppings. The peppers are fresh sliced bell peppers and had a nice flavor though they could have been cooked a tad longer or even been slightly pre cooked, but it really didnt detract much if at all from the pizza. The pepperoni was delicious and was the type that curls and gets slightly burnt and crunchy along the edges and it wasnt too greasy. And like i said, the crust was excellent. The un-initiated might think eww gross- sour dough?!?!, but thats not the case. In fact you barely notice the flavor except that its slightly tart/sour. Its not overpowering and you barely notice it, but yet it adds another dimension to the flavor of the pizza. So with the combination of all that, you get a really great pizza with wonderful flavor, and is meant to be picked up by the slice, folded and eaten just like they do in ny! Dont get me wrong, i love me some new haven pizza, but this is so deliciously different, but yet not all that different from the new haven pies we’re used to. This pie may even un-throne a few of those places as my new favorite! The staff was friendly and efficient, and the prices weren’t horrible. You can do take out or eat in, but if you eat in, you serve yourself and clean up when youre done. This place is a little out of my way to get to but has definitely been put on my list of favorites and id highly recommend it to anyone!“

FOOD WAS 3.5/3.75, but no option for half stars... again, even crappy pizza is still pizza...but this WASN'T crappy by any means, just a LITTLE bland IMO. Would DEF stop in again to try a grinder or a red pie.“

However, the past few times I have ordered from Milford colony it’s like eating a tortilla- tonight I ordered there and the pizza was even thinner - the quality of the pizza has been going downhill for a while now yet the quantity of toppings available have been increasing. Please, stick to what you know and bring back the amazing pizza I know this is. Paper thin tonight, not a lot of sauce mostly cheese and my pizza wasn’t even sliced.
