“My husband and I visited S & P Oyster Co. on our honeymoon, and it truly could not have been a more exquisite experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. We started with fresh oysters on the half shell, pan-seared octopus, and pan-seared scallops, each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna and the homemade squid ink pasta, both of which were exceptional in flavor and quality. Our waiter, Jeff, made the night even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, offering wonderful recommendations and never rushing us. The drinks were fantastic as well and complemented the meal perfectly. S & P Oyster Co. gave us a honeymoon dinner we will never forget. We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return. “All around wonderful experience. The fact that the day was sunny with a breeze helped to make this an overall 5. Service was friendly and attentive. Steamers were great, a few with grit but most were sweet and tasty. I don’t eat oysters but those in my group who do said they were good. NE Clam chowder was very good. Could have been slightly thicker but had a great flavor and was seasoned well. Lobster was sweet, tender and juicy. Perfectly cooked. You don’t go to this type of place for their potato salad and coleslaw but they both deserve a mention because they were good, especially the coleslaw, it had a great crunch and was dressed but not dripping in condiments. Special lobster roll was also really good, stuffed with lobster meat. We tried both corns, buttered one was hands down the best, the corn flavor was front and center but also glad we tried the other one. Will definitely return to try more menu options. A perfect New England experience.“

“We have been coming to David's place for a long time - usually very good. This time (7/23) was not the greatest. Ordered sea food salad roll toasted. It was not toasted and they have changed the sea food salad since last month. It was really good before - now it's more "Stop and Shop" type salad with big chunks. Before it was chopped up small and had a delicious taste. Also the chips were obviously the "bottom of the bag" ones. Sorry - just disappointed. We drove quite a few miles to eat there.“

“The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it“

The Dock is a seasonal spot specializing in seafood so I had to go try out their Lobster Roll and much more. I arrived hungry and ready to eat so Tiana and I ordered and reviewed: 1. Cup Lobster Bisque $8.00 👎🏾 2. Side of Clam Strips $13.00 👍🏾 3. (2) Hot Lobster Roll w/fries $33.00ea 💣 After ordering our food we walked to the dining area and picked out our table overlooking the Niantic River and patiently waited for our order number to be called. Once called we carefully escorted the tray of seafood delight to our table and I started with the Lobster Roll. I was pleasantly surprised that the lobster meat was sitting on top quality rolls. The delicious lobster Roll was paired with delicious French fries and it earned a bomb.💣 I moved onto the Lobster Bisque and I think it would have been delicious if it hadn't been served "chilled". Getting served cold lobster bisque was quickly followed by thumbs down. 👎🏾 Finally, Tiana and I added lemon to the Clam strips and we ate the whole basket.😎 They were very good so that easily earned a thumbs up. 👍🏾 The Dock Restaurant serves up great seafood and the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful when the weather is nice. “This was kind of a last minute thing because a friend heard we were in this area and recommended it. It was about an hour before they closed, so there was no wait for the two of us. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

Someone else in the reviews mentioned that there’s street parking (very little, don’t rely on finding any) and there’s also a public lot about a block away (short walk slightly uphill to the restaurant). The restaurant validates an hour, which turned out to be a $5 credit, we stayed a little over an hour and a half and ended up paying like $10 still if I remember correctly.

My husband and I are NOT seafood people, which makes this restaurant an unusual choice for us. They do have non-seafood options but we both had a fairly heavy lunch so decided to try their fish dishes. The native catch that day was swordfish which my husband got, and I had the monkfish katsu (don’t look up what a monkfish looks like if you don’t already know 😅). Both were absolutely delicious. Dessert was an almond brown butter cake that was to die for. I’d love to return to try their other menu items someday.“

“We just took my daughter for her 17th birthday, she originally wanted sushi. She looked at the menu and immediately changed her mind and chose to try her first seafood boil! She absolutely LOVED IT! The servers are fast and friendly and the food is GREAT! She chose snow crab legs and black mussels, my boyfriend had a crab cluster combo and I had a sausage boil combo. “Food and service are always wonderful. One of my favorite breakfast spots. The food is always consistently great and the staff is efficient and professional. They always make sure your coffee is full and take care of any issues quickly and make sure they can accommodate any customers that come in. My son is in love with their chocolate chip pancakes! They also make amazing breakfast sandwiches and my favorite is their eggs bennidict.

Couldn’t have asked for anything more - excellent tuna, lobstah rolls, lobstah taco, and a most excellent BLT with avocado - hand cut fries, even. And what might be the tenderest yummy squid I’ve ever had. Stiff Blanton’s rocks for reasonable and a cold dogs and boats? from Beer’d nearby. And a wonderful server/tender. There was no vegetable toss even though they were prepared and ready on the cart. The cook also did not do the sake part or offer water for the kids. The food had a very bland taste to it . The server never even checked on us we had to get their attention to get a glass of water. My wife was extremely disappointed and so we're our kids. I asked to speak with the manager, and was told our chef was the manager. Overall it was a very disappointing experience and would not recommend.“
