“The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it“

“The lobster rolls were amazing. Not a huge fan of the pickle but it didnt take away from the meal. Overall great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a little challenge finding the spot while driving. Once you get out and walk around towards the water its super easy. Definitely will be back!“

“All around wonderful experience. The fact that the day was sunny with a breeze helped to make this an overall 5. Service was friendly and attentive. Steamers were great, a few with grit but most were sweet and tasty. I don’t eat oysters but those in my group who do said they were good. NE Clam chowder was very good. Could have been slightly thicker but had a great flavor and was seasoned well. Lobster was sweet, tender and juicy. Perfectly cooked. You don’t go to this type of place for their potato salad and coleslaw but they both deserve a mention because they were good, especially the coleslaw, it had a great crunch and was dressed but not dripping in condiments. Special lobster roll was also really good, stuffed with lobster meat. We tried both corns, buttered one was hands down the best, the corn flavor was front and center but also glad we tried the other one. Will definitely return to try more menu options. “We have been coming to David's place for a long time - usually very good. This time (7/23) was not the greatest. Ordered sea food salad roll toasted. It was not toasted and they have changed the sea food salad since last month. It was really good before - now it's more "Stop and Shop" type salad with big chunks. Before it was chopped up small and had a delicious taste. Also the chips were obviously the "bottom of the bag" ones. Sorry - just disappointed. We drove quite a few miles to eat there.“

The Dock is a seasonal spot specializing in seafood so I had to go try out their Lobster Roll and much more. I arrived hungry and ready to eat so Tiana and I ordered and reviewed: 1. Cup Lobster Bisque $8.00 👎🏾 2. Side of Clam Strips $13.00 👍🏾 3. (2) Hot Lobster Roll w/fries $33.00ea 💣 After ordering our food we walked to the dining area and picked out our table overlooking the Niantic River and patiently waited for our order number to be called. Once called we carefully escorted the tray of seafood delight to our table and I started with the Lobster Roll. I was pleasantly surprised that the lobster meat was sitting on top quality rolls. The delicious lobster Roll was paired with delicious French fries and it earned a bomb.💣 I moved onto the Lobster Bisque and I think it would have been delicious if it hadn't been served "chilled". Getting served cold lobster bisque was quickly followed by thumbs down. 👎🏾 Finally, Tiana and I added lemon to the Clam strips and we ate the whole basket.😎 They were very good so that easily earned a thumbs up. 👍🏾 The Dock Restaurant serves up great seafood and the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful when the weather is nice. “This is a street side shack, no ambiance but the food was delicious, fish, calamari, clam bites, shrimp, onion rings and fresh made delicious Cole slaw. Caitlin was super nice, made suggestions and we were delighted. Although I didn’t love the New England clam chowder or lobster bisque, my husband did!“

“A culinary delight! I took my family to Oyster Club on a Saturday evening after some shopping in Mystic and had a wonderful experience. The oyster happy hour was fantastic. As a raw oyster enthusiast, I was elated at the quality and price. I had a dozen oysters myself and had to stop myself from getting more- they were SO GOOD! The blackfish I had for dinner was excellent. The ramp hummus was a real highlight. For dessert, we had the maple ice cream which was the most delicious ice cream I have ever had. It was a real treat to come here. You can tell that the food is made with heart and served with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. I’ll definitely be back soon.“

“Was very disappointed when we took friends of ours there and told them how good the bread was but when we ordered from Jack was told the bread now costs and yet we were there two weeks ago and bread was offered. “Food and service are always wonderful. One of my favorite breakfast spots. The food is always consistently great and the staff is efficient and professional. They always make sure your coffee is full and take care of any issues quickly and make sure they can accommodate any customers that come in. My son is in love with their chocolate chip pancakes! They also make amazing breakfast sandwiches and my favorite is their eggs bennidict.

We ordered online for delivery, so the rating for atmosphere is mostly just reiteration for service. The shop was out of a dessert option and called immediately to offer a replacement. “We just took my daughter for her 17th birthday, she originally wanted sushi. She looked at the menu and immediately changed her mind and chose to try her first seafood boil! She absolutely LOVED IT! The servers are fast and friendly and the food is GREAT! She chose snow crab legs and black mussels, my boyfriend had a crab cluster combo and I had a sausage boil combo. “01.26.25- 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' - Little Galapagos Restaurant ❤️ City of New London ❤️ I dropped into The Little Galapagos Restaurant this evening to review a couple of their popular menu items which were Chicken Wings, Thai Chilli Sauce followed by Carne Asada Ecuadorians Style meal that was actually really Dope ❤️ however the Chicken wings were not great at all so they earned a Thumbs 👎🏾 The atmosphere and service was really dope there and I am sure that had I ordered anything else on the menu besides the Wings would have been just as good as the Carne Asada. “Black point pizza is always my go to when I want an absolutely amazing pizza. for me I have the cooks keep it in the oven a bit longer so it stands up when you pick it up to eat. the sauce is to die for also. if you like your pizza a little more firm just ask and the cooks are happy to make your food exactly as you like. minor the owner is a stand up guy and really did good with this recipe. the salads and his homemade balsamic dressing is the best I've had from anywhere. if you have not come out to black point you are really missing out. “We visited here for the first time last night and we were not disappointed! The dining room is a bit dark, but it’s nice and tastefully decorated. Our server was Christina and she was great. Very friendly and personable. She was very genuine and not faking it for the job. The food was FANTASTIC! I ordered the famous Bisque Bomb, which was pricey, but worth every penny. My husband had a cup of bisque and the B&B tacos with shrimp, and he said both were very good. If you’re in the area this summer, give Ford’s Black and Blue a try. Great food and great staff.“

“I took my wife and kids there for my wife's birthday. Worst experience we've ever had at a hibachi. Extremely over priced to start with. The cooking part was awful. There was no vegetable toss even though they were prepared and ready on the cart. The cook also did not do the sake part or offer water for the kids. The food had a very bland taste to it . The server never even checked on us we had to get their attention to get a glass of water. My wife was extremely disappointed and so we're our kids. I asked to speak with the manager, and was told our chef was the manager. Overall it was a very disappointing experience and would not recommend.“
