“If you go to Mancora and don’t get Julio as your server… you’re doing it WRONG. 💯🔥
We went to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday and Julio turned it into a whole EXPERIENCE. The energy? 10/10. The service? ELITE. The vibe? UNMATCHED.
He was on point the entire night—attentive, fast, super friendly, and just knew how to make everything feel special. It didn’t feel like regular service, it felt like VIP treatment from start to finish.
He made sure the birthday celebration hit different 🎉 and honestly, that’s the kind of service you don’t forget.
Mancora is already amazing, but Julio takes it to another level. If you see him, just know you’re about to have a great night.
We’re definitely coming back… and asking for Julio every time 🔥👏“

“The food, the dessert, the service, everything great!! #WomenOwned 🇵🇪“
“Uchu in Hartford was such a great experience from the moment we walked in. The restaurant is clean, bright, and beautifully decorated with warm tan décor that immediately makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
One thing that really stood out is that Uchu has three different rooms, each offering its own vibe. One room is a traditional restaurant setting, perfect for a more upscale dining experience. Another gives off cozy bakery vibes, and the third feels like a lounge or party scene with great music and tasteful strobe lighting. It’s such a unique concept because you truly get to choose the atmosphere you want.
One of the owners, Matin, seated us and was extremely kind and welcoming. He explained that the name Uchu comes from a Peruvian word/dialect meaning spice, which perfectly represents their Peruvian-inspired menu.
We started with a passion fruit pisco pitcher, and it was absolutely delicious. It was lightly blended with ice—not frozen, but not exactly on the rocks either. It had the perfect balance of sweetness without being overpowering, and it masked the alcohol so well that it was dangerously smooth.
For my entrée, I ordered the Churrasco a la Parrilla, which came with fries, white rice, and a salad. The steak was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor—I could literally cut it with a butter knife.
For dessert, I had the leche asada, which was similar to flan and served with whipped cream and fresh fruit. It was the perfect way to end the meal.
Uchu is truly perfect for any occasion—whether you’re planning a date night, celebrating a birthday, or getting together with friends. What really sets this place apart is the ability to choose your vibe while still receiving the same high-quality food and service in every room.
Lastly, the staff deserves special recognition. They were extremely attentive, something that feels rare in restaurants nowadays, especially in the post-COVID era.
I will definitely be back, and I highly encourage everyone to check this place out. Uchu is a gem in Hartford“

“One of us had been to Peru and sampled food so suggested we try it out here. Not disappointed. Good size portions, great ceviche, popularity with locals and a 2nd restaurant testifies to its popularity and quality; established 25 years ago (1998) and going strong. Helpful staff.“

“I had an amazing dining experience at Nicole’s ! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with friendly staff. But the real star of the show was the food - authentic, flavorful, and expertly prepared.
The arroz chaufa was a highlight - perfectly cooked rice, and crispy veggies all combined in a savory and satisfying dish.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Nicole’s and can't wait to go back for more. If you're a fan of Peruvian cuisine or just looking to try something new, this place is a must!“

“This place is great. Authentic South American cuisine. I believe principally Peruvian.
My wife is from Ecuador(Perus neighboring country) and loves this.
Today I ordered "medio pollo combo", or "half chicken combo"
It was served with fried rice, fries ( similar potatoes that they have in Ecuador) a small salad and half chicken
The chicken is so well seasoned/cooked and the portions are huge, absolutely worth the price.
After sharing this combo with my wife right now, there is still plenty of us to share it again tomorrow.“

“I can’t believe we waited this long to try Rockin Chicken! It was so delicious! The family meal is priced right for an alternative to a pizza night. My picky 5 year old even cleaned his plate. Bravo 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏“
