We told the wonderful guy at the counter that it was our first time (after prompted) and he gave us a tees leches on the house! We got coupons as well! Don’t waste your time and check it out.“

“This place was recommended to me when I was in Fairfield for work. This is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to since living in Arizona. The food was so fresh and flavorful, and Carlos was so friendly and welcoming, that having eaten here for lunch I returned that same evening for dinner with friends. Everything was delicious, from the salsas, to the mole, to the fresh vegetables, to the horchata which was one of the best I ve ever had. “We’d flown across the continent from Vancouver to New York, and drove up from Midtown to New Canaan to see something quieter. The moment we parked on Elm Street, it felt like the right destination. The name might belong to old horror movies, but the street was nothing but calm. My wife called it “cute” about a thousand times, and she wasn’t wrong.

We walked the shops, stepped in and out of small storefronts, and followed a narrow back alley when hunger finally caught up with us. That’s how we found Back End — tucked away, sunny, and exactly where it needed to be. The November air was cold, but the day had a clear sky that made everything feel sharp and clean.

Service was friendly and quick. The room had an easy rhythm — warm decor, high stools, tight tables. A space used well. Fun without being loud, relaxed without slowing down. Sometimes you stumble onto a place that matches your mood perfectly. This was one of those.

We shared tacos, Nonna's meatballs, and chicken dumplings. Every plate landed. Simple dishes done right, seasoned with confidence. Nothing heavy, nothing forced — the kind of food that keeps a conversation moving and a day on track.

“We had Freddy Plato’s Food Truck for our teenagers’ birthday party, and it was a HUGE hit! Everyone absolutely loved the food. The tacos and quesadillas were delicious, and the beans and rice were seriously some of the best we’ve ever had. Everything was so fresh and flavorful!

They set out plenty of chips, salsa, and guacamole on the tables and went around serving shrimp, beef, and steak tacos to our guests. They also served food right from the truck window, which made it such a fun experience.

“I was craving a burrito. Not a chipotle burrito where they skimp on the ingredients, But a big voluptuous, tasty Burrito. Look no further. Despite the location being empty, it provided me the opportunity to witness manager and the staff who were training A new hire at the time provide exceptional service. Yeah, it’s just a chain restaurant, but the quality of the food and service was Exceptional. I Ordered the surf and turf burrito with white rice, black beans, guacamole, sour cream, and spicy salsa. I got this order to go in. The checkout process was straight Forward. The burrito with chips and queso as well as a large fountain drink came to about $27 with a 15% tip. Totally worth it. I had to double fist this thing because it was so big and delicious. I don’t live in Norwalk, but that was the closest location and most convenient at the time. Making it a meal- I added chips and spicy queso and a large soda. The chips were not stale and slightly salted, which vibed well with the queso. The Diablo queso wasn’t as spicy as advertised, but that’s OK. It served its purpose in between gigantic bites of the burrito. I was on my way home to Danbury and that Damn burrito was still warm after a 40 minute drive in traffic. Admittedly, The portion of meat, i.e. steak and shrimp could be a little more generous, but the overall quality and flavor of the combination I ordered was “peak.” I fully anticipate going back to this location to order the same thing.
Hopefully, the Qdoba executives of the world see this and acknowledge what a complementary review this is for this location and the staff that helped me there. Not trying to pull any favors, but a random acknowledgment of their promising success would be powerful. I will see you soon.“
