the food is great came in earlier today and honestly was surprised about the portion size. The chicken and beef koobideh was amazing you must try. Only downside is there is no A/C so it’s always hot in there!!
Very good food. Some of the best kabobs I've ever had.

Maman Joon Capitol Hill is a new gem on Barracks Row, right next to the Metro. The restaurant offers exceptional and delicious Persian food with authentic flavor and high-quality ingredients. Dishes are flavorful and spiced without being overpowering, featuring an intoxicating blend of vegetables and perfectly seared meat. Popular items include the Beef Koobideh, chicken kebabs, and kofta, all noted for being juicy and not dried out. The falafel is light and crispy. Sides are outstanding, especially the generous portions of light and fluffy rice, the outstanding yogurt and yogurt shallot sauce, and spreads like the Kashk E’ Bademian. The salad, however, was not impressive. Service is great, friendly, and wonderful, with very reasonable prices offering excellent value. There is essentially no seating, making it best for take-away, which works great for many. It is highly recommended as the gold standard of kebabs.
