Tonight staff was spectacular for a Monday busy night shift ! My items were off the dollar menu and were somewhat pricey, almost $20 for a cheeseburger, x2 mini roast beef sliders with fries & two small drinks.
Lots of people were walking in to sit down and eat, and for a Delaware fast food restaurant that was nice to see.

“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. If you are in the Newark area and would like some tasty and quick diner food, go there & ask for Alicia <3 Thanks Alicia will be there again real soon !”

“We stop in once a week. Sometimes we eat there and sometimes we call and pick up. The atmosphere is fabulous. If we ever do have to wait for our food, it’s totally worth it. If my husband and I are together we sit and have wine while we wait. They are all very friendly! If we get take out, we always get extra so we can have leftovers, which are always delicious. We reheat the pizza in the toaster oven, it’s amazing. We also love the desserts there! It’s just a great spot and we love it! I’ve never once been disappointed with any of their service or food.”

“I love banh mi here. The taste and flavor are very authentic and fresh. My favorite is banh mi heo quay with crispy pork skin. The kitchen and store look very clean and new. Great customer service as well. Will definitely come back.”

My go-to bowl is the Tropical Açaí bowl…and a close 2nd is the Pura Vida Açaí bowl.

The only thing I could say negative…and it isn’t a negative at all, is I wish they had a smaller size bowl available. The bowl is almost a meal in itself. If there was a bowl that had 50-60% the size of the current bowl, it would be a great desert.

“Had a great meal at ugly dumpling, greeted with great service right away! Service was personable and accommodating to my stroller and a high chair for toddler. The establishment is extremely clean and beautifully designed. Waitress was helpful in assisting with menu, family style small plates, 3-4 plates for a couple suggested. We loved the dumplings with spicy sauce on side and sesame noodles. So fun to see everyone working on hundreds of beautiful, delicate, and delicious dumplings! 🥟 thank you ugly dumpling team!”

“my friend and I had lunch here with our little ones today (2 and 5) i picked here because i knew they would be child friendly.because lets be honest you never know what's going to happen taking toddlers to a restaurant. they were well behaved but i want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing server Zuri. Hands down the best waitress ive ever had in a restaurant. She was polite, attentive, and had great positive vibes from her all around.
