I brought my girl's father who is visiting from Greece. we were hoping one of the owners would come over and say hello. George ordered eggs, toast and Canadian bacon which is his favorite. I had a Greek omelette. Both meals were fantastic as well as our friendly server.“

I hadn't had foie gras before, so I thought it was pretty cool that I could try it at a place that wasn't a high-end French restaurant. It was pretty good! I enjoyed all of the food there. “I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. “We decided to go to dinner at Firebirds. I had been once and was not impressed; however my husband had never been there. I have to say the food was good. Cooked exactly the way we wanted. The only draw back we had is the portions of food that you receive for the price that you pay. We felt like we were robbed. We don’t over eat so when I say we had small portions, we really had small portions. The dessert was even small portions for the price that you’re required to pay. The five very thin layers of lemon cake were good but the slice was very thin for $10.25. Out bill was $76.30 for two and I would have no problem if we had an appetizer and alcoholic drinks but there was none of that because we don’t drink. We each had a soda because the lemonade was too tart. The server was very pleasant and on time with everything. We tipped her well as we should have. Not sure I can return there. A little more light would be appreciated if I did return.“

“We have been to all of the other Bardea offerings in the area so we were excited to try out Roost! We were not disappointed. Located on Market Street in Wilmington, Roost is an upscale pub and bar. The menu is typical pub food fare but with an upscale twist. We were seated immediately upon entering. Our server Ashley was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable. She Handled our food sensitivities easily, made great recommendations for both drinks and food, and could explain any dish in depth. The food was delectable! We had the deviled eggs which arrived in a nest made out of dough, a burger, a Reuben, and dessert. If you are a craft beer person they have an excellent draft menu. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we look forward to returning.“

Absolutely amazing experience, she pays so much attention to detail, asks all the right questions and if you're hungry don't worry that food is coming out fast. “Administrative details - While you usually must make a reservation a year in advance (which I did), there are a very few earlier spots available on their website. In addition, if you are on the email list, they send the occasional last-minute availability. Talula’s is BYOB. The price was $125 and with all the other things, taxes, gratuities, it came to $160. The Nook Table is available for 6-8 diners and the Farm Table is for larger parties. Website link is below. Everything is presented in “tasting” small portions. In addition to the menu, they provided a couple of additional offerings. I did not do a good job of capturing the delightful descriptions of the food provided by our server. (The next time I go, I will video the descriptions if they allow.) The group did a great job of bringing wine which was beautifully poured in appropriate glassware by our server. The server also paired the wine with the offerings for us! The service was exceptional without being pretentious. After each tasting, plates, utensils and glasses were cleared and refurbished so discreetly that you hardly noticed. The menu changes with the “farm to table” availability. My favorite was a squash tarte. [I was delighted to find that I did not like the foie gras. It is “made” in a most inhumane and horrible way. This is the only time I have eaten it and I will never eat it again.] I was sorry to find that by the Black Garlic Beef Ribeye (#6 on the list), I was getting to the point of “too much food.” The only downsides were “too much food” for most of us and the wines they suggested for the pairings were hard/impossible to find. I personally did not like the varieties of wines they suggested for pairings. The rest of the party enjoyed the comparable wines they were able to find and allowed the server to pair with the tastings. I will be making a reservation for next year very soon. I have already made a reservation for the “sister” Talula’s Garden in Philly for September.“

He was so wonderful and pleasant to speak to and so accommodating. Our waitress Crystal H was wonderful too. She gave such great service, even helping us to decorate the tables. “Nice place! Felt very homely and welcoming. It's a bit out of the way but a friend took me there to try after he was impressed by it. I had the chipped beef on toast and it hit the spot. I also had a side of scrapple. Most places don't cook scrapple correctly but Libby's did a fine job with it, and that's coming from a guy that lives in scrapple territory! I will say that the potatoes needed salt, but I'd rather have to add salt than deal with having too much salt. The coffee was decent as well.

Oh yeah, talk about affordable! This is how breakfast should be priced!

Kid-friendliness: While I was walking out, two little kids in strollers were smiling and waving bye to us. The staff were having fun with them too. It was adorable so I'd say they're pretty kid friendly.“
