We've rounded up Bonita Springs' top Mexican spots for you to try.
“We have been to taco mix 3 times since we recently discovered the place, twice in one week! We loved it that much! I love that this is a multigenerational owned and operated restaurant. The first time we went in, the abuela was sitting in the corner, the mom was running the show and the son was in the kitchen! You do not go for the environment, you go for the owners and the food. Oh the food!!! She has a little bit of everything. We got beef tacos, the fried steak plate (so huge), the tostada, and the Cuban sandwich. The sandwich was the best I’ve ever had, hands down! The tacos are my absolute favorite Tex mex taco in this area now. Every time we go to Bonita beach, we just pray they’re open! Love love love!“
“This was a pick-up order Calzones were delicious. One plain and the other meatball and pepperoni. Hot wings tasted mild. We also ordered mild wings and you can see the color difference. The cinnamon sticks were horrible. Hard as a rock. Overcooked.“
“This maybe the cutest location our of all the Tijuana Flats we eat in. Great patio and beautiful lake with wild life. The inside is all Tijauan Flats but the outside is beautiful Bonita Springs. Best service in town. Food came out fast and perfect. Everyone checked in on us twice. Great job! Had the double stack tacos to fill me up.“
“Authentic. The food here is really delicious. I would not have known this cafe was such a gem by outward appearances. Parking is awkward. If you don't speak Spanish (like me), you may struggle a bit. It's worth it. The Mayan Cafe is a gem. The food is so good and the people are kind. There's a sense of community. The food tasted like it was made with love.“
“Was there today and was enjoying our meal. Becasue of my hubby being in a wheelchair if he needs the restroom I have to accompany him. Well, he needed to use the restroom and we were about half way through our meal. I told the gentleman seating patrons we would be right back and when we came back I was sadly disappointed. I understand our waitress told the buspeople not to touch our food they took our drinks and chips and salsa. Somehow our food was all that was left. I had wanted to munch on a few more of the chips while hubby finished his meal but no such luck. Because of this hubby decided not to eat any more of his meal. I would think they could have offered us some chips and salsa to go, but all we got was NOTHING. We will return, but will be more direct if this happens again.Wheelchair accessibility: FAirly easy to access and staff helps out with doors.“
“So, so real and authentic! If you are tired of restaurants that taste like everything came out of a Sysco truck, come here! Real food, from scratch ingredients. The Maria’s chicken soup was made with real chicken on-the-bone and fresh veggies. I was in heaven. Our entire table of 7 (chimichanga, fajitas, etc) was excellent. Service was super friendly. Highly, highly recommend.“
“The food is delicious. The beef broth is the best in the area. And the Gorditas de chicharron are the best. ANGELICA is very kind and always has a smile. Excellent place. But today I tried El Menudo and it was horrible. They add a lot of potatoes to the chicken broth. It looks more like potato broth. And it is very expensive.“
“My go to when I'm craving Mexican food! Small hole in the wall place off Bonita Beach Road , used to be Taco Ardiente years ago. Affiliated with all the great ones that used to be in Naples! Daily specials during week. Place serves bottled beers including imports. Great place I'm thankful is still around!!!!Kid-friendliness: Great for kids all ages!!!“
“Do not go here if you're looking for ambience. But if you want to be swept away to a little restaurant in the middle of Mexico this is a place to do it. The food is extremely authentic, and mostly street food size. We had beef tacos in a flour tortilla, chicken tacos in a flour tortillas, and tamales. They also served two sauces we opted for the milder of the two, which was not hot at all and was delicious. The people who operated it were so friendly as everyone here has already reported. The clientele was obviously local Mexicans and we were the only Anglos in the place. They spoke English well enough to work out what we were ordering. The location of the restaurant is actually not on the street but in a small building behind the Pentecostal church in front of it. It's a little difficult to find. But, eating there is worth the trip.“
