“We came to tacos and tequila and had Shawn wait on us and he was amazing. Nice young kid and he was very attentive and we gave him a $20 tip to help tours whatever he could need. Will definitely go back and I would recommend anyone locally.“

“I love the place, but the Sarasota Location needs faster bartenders. In addition, they need a place for guest waiting for a table to order a drink at the bar. We waited 45 minutes for a table, got to the table and waited 30 to 40 minutes for our mixed drink. We received our food in about 20 minutes, which was great. Jonathan the server was very apologetic. I went 2 weeks ago and Mary Kate my bartender/server was horribly slow. I had one drink and wings and took about an hour on a Sunday about 1pm. She had no sense of urgency and was not attentive at all. I love the place, but can't continue to go if this slow service is the norm from the bar. At the Tampa location the service was great and they had not one table available. Sarasota needs to step it up!“

“I’m new to the area and this was my second time here. Let me tell you, if you are looking for a Taco Tuesday, this is where it’s at and Tuesday is way busier than it is on a Saturday 😅

Anyway, back to the food. I am picky with my tacos and I tell you the carne asada steak taco does not miss. While it is one big one (I personally prefer two smaller ones) it is very good and very filling. Stuffed with meat and all the good stuff, the meat is so flavorful I didn’t even use the pictured salsa and I AM A SALSA GIRL! That’s how good it was! Also my cucumber margarita was very refreshing, not too sweet and didn’t use sour mix 🥳 I hate to say this but the cucumber margarita is better than their regular margarita for some reason. So do with that information as you will. I definitely will be back, Mike the bartender is very personable and to the point and funny.

Oh and it is like a Tex-Mex bar and they do play country music which is funny and they did have a live band around 6 playing on this day if you’re a live music lover like myself (and it wasn’t too loud) 😊 and the reason I’m giving it a 4 and not 5 is because the high top tables surrounding the bar are very close to the bar chairs and you almost have to squeeze through. That’s it. But anyways, I will be back 😁“

“We stopped for lunch while in Naples and had a wonderful time. The environment was great and food was delicious and authentic. Highly recommend the Grouper Tacos and the Tampiqueña. The guacamole and salsa were perfect with fresh tortilla chips. Everything came out quickly and service was excellent, even with our four young children! Thank you for a great time!“

“Came in wanting tacos on a Tuesday and left coming back whenever I'm back in Naples.
The most iconic plate? The steak tacos. Ronald gave us the recommendations and much more. He was great!
So, had all the tacos and they were all delicious. We loved the steak ones so much we ordered another round for my wife and I.
Definitely a great atmosphere. Ronald helped with moving some tables to accommodate the baby and can't express how much I'll be returning here.

“Mr. Tequilla on Tiamiami Trai East was our initial visit to their Mexican restaurants. This was different from what we anticipated; the restaurant is beautifully decorated with vibrant chairs, booths, and various artifacts. There is a spacious bar offering a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. The food and service were fantastic. We ordered the quesadilla along with beef and chicken tacos, which came with a side of rice and beans. It was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the Tequila Margaritas with a buy one get one offer. We will definitely return.“

“This place is special to me, I mean what’s the base for any good sub? The bread, right? Well, the equivalent for tacos is the tortilla—and at Tortilleria La Rancherita, that’s where they set themselves apart. Fresh, in-house made corn tortillas that immediately tell you this place is the real deal.

I’ve been coming to Tortilleria La Rancherita since I was a kid growing up in Naples, and to this day, it’s still one of the very few places I trust when I’m craving real, authentic Mexican food—especially barbacoa.

My family is from Chihuahua, Mexico, so I don’t say this lightly: their barbacoa is the best I’ve had outside of Mexico. Real barbacoa isn’t just “shredded beef”—it’s traditionally made from beef cheek, rich, tender, and full of flavor. That’s exactly what you get here, and it’s something that’s getting harder and harder to find.

There’s also a personal connection for me. My dad was known locally for making true al pastor tacos, cooked the right way on a trompo. He took a lot of pride in doing things the authentic way, and places like this remind me of that. Since he passed, it’s been tough to find spots that live up to that standard—but this one still does.

This isn’t a fancy sit-down restaurant. It’s more of a small, bodega-style spot where the focus is on the food. Fresh tortillas, simple ingredients, and flavors that speak for themselves. That’s how you know it’s the real deal.

Like any place, it’s not perfect—sometimes you’ll want to double-check your order—but when it comes to authenticity and especially their barbacoa, this place delivers in a way that most don’t.

“Ordered Chicken Nachos for an appetizer. I probably wouldn’t order them again as they were lacking ingredients I’m accustomed to such as jalapeños, sour cream, beans. The tortilla chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil to best describe it. On with my dinner which was delicious and that was the Fajita Chicken Burrito. I ordered a side of Pico Salsa. Fantastic! Service was excellent. It’s located in a small plaza off Davis Blvd near Shadowlawn, right after the car wash.“

“We were traveling and Gemini recommended this little gem. The food was fabulous, especially the ceviche, fresh, plentiful and authentically Mexican. We also tried the signature dish, the quesadilla Pizza. It was served with a variety of dips and a medium was more than enough to feed our group of four. We met the owner Patria and she was charming and very helpful. It's my understanding she recently operated a popular food truck in Naples.“
