Upon arrival we were greeted graciously and seated immediately, though prospective diners should note that this is a very popular spot—reservations are strongly recommended. Our table offered an excellent vantage point: comfortable for conversation while still allowing us to take in the lively yet relaxed atmosphere of the surrounding district. Service was outstanding. Our server was personable, attentive, and genuinely helpful in guiding us through the menu. While Mediterrano offers only beer and wine, the selections are thoughtfully curated and pair well with the restaurant’s Mediterranean focus. The true highlight, however, is the food. The menu provides a wide range of enticing options, reflecting the breadth of Mediterranean culinary traditions. I chose the Greek beef stew, a dish I have enjoyed in many variations over the years. “This is our favorite “special occasion” restaurant. The food is easily some of the best I’ve ever had, the problem is, it’s so good that it makes it hard to try other dishes on the menu. A recent Valentine’s Day return visit — this time with friends — reaffirmed many of the restaurant’s strengths while revealing a few operational shortcomings on one of the busiest nights of the year. Our first experience a year prior, seated outdoors, delivered an especially memorable evening marked by relaxed ambiance and attentive service. The latest visit, however, placed our party in a high-traffic area adjacent to the main restaurant flow. While the noise level remained manageable, the constant movement created a subtle distraction that diminished the otherwise convivial atmosphere. Service stood out as a highlight. Our server was knowledgeable, personable, and confident in his recommendations. His guidance led to an excellent wine pairing that complemented the evening beautifully and elevated the overall dining experience. The indoor ambiance offers warm rustic touches consistent with the trattoria concept, though it lacks the distinctive character and intimacy that make the outdoor seating particularly appealing. At the table, appetizers and desserts were uniformly excellent, showcasing the kitchen’s finesse and attention to balance and flavor. Entrées were widely praised among our group, and both my wife’s pasta and mine delivered exceptional flavor and execution. However, they arrived only warm rather than hot — a notable misstep for pasta service and one that slightly tempered an otherwise strong culinary showing. Taken together with our previous visit, Osteria Tulia remains a very good choice for Italian dining in Naples. “I love the place, but the Sarasota Location needs faster bartenders. In addition, they need a place for guest waiting for a table to order a drink at the bar. We waited 45 minutes for a table, got to the table and waited 30 to 40 minutes for our mixed drink. We received our food in about 20 minutes, which was great. Jonathan the server was very apologetic. I went 2 weeks ago and Mary Kate my bartender/server was horribly slow. I had one drink and wings and took about an hour on a Sunday about 1pm. She had no sense of urgency and was not attentive at all. I love the place, but can't continue to go if this slow service is the norm from the bar. At the Tampa location the service was great and they had not one table available. Sarasota needs to step it up!“

“Tonight my husband and I, along with our daughter and son- in-law, went to Oak & Stone to celebrate my birthday with a casual dinner. The food was excellent, the service was just great. We will be back for sure! Before our dinner was served, there were several servers looking out the window. One of the girls, Rebecca, asked if the silver car in the handicapped spot was mine. It was. She let me know that a gentleman who had just left the bar had backed into my car. Fortunately, several people had seen him hit my vehicle. She not only had a photo of my license plate, she had his as well. By the time I knew it, the manager, Chris, was already outside dealing with the man, who clearly was attempting to leave in his car. He was also clearly inebriated. The bartender had spoken to him before he left the restaurant about not being fit to drive, but he replied that he was walking home, which was not true. Chris stood in the man’s open car door and convinced him somehow not to leave. CCSO was called, the man’s daughter was called to pick him up. I want to thank everyone at Oak & Stone for being so helpful and caring. There’s not a ton of damage to our car, but it’s only a few months old with only 3,000 miles on it, so it hurts! Special kudos to Chris, Rebecca, Don and Kaylee for their kindness and assistance tonight. And thank you for the discount given for our food! I deeply appreciate you all!!
