A recent Valentine’s Day return visit — this time with friends — reaffirmed many of the restaurant’s strengths while revealing a few operational shortcomings on one of the busiest nights of the year. Our first experience a year prior, seated outdoors, delivered an especially memorable evening marked by relaxed ambiance and attentive service. The latest visit, however, placed our party in a high-traffic area adjacent to the main restaurant flow. While the noise level remained manageable, the constant movement created a subtle distraction that diminished the otherwise convivial atmosphere. Service stood out as a highlight. Our server was knowledgeable, personable, and confident in his recommendations. His guidance led to an excellent wine pairing that complemented the evening beautifully and elevated the overall dining experience. The indoor ambiance offers warm rustic touches consistent with the trattoria concept, though it lacks the distinctive character and intimacy that make the outdoor seating particularly appealing. At the table, appetizers and desserts were uniformly excellent, showcasing the kitchen’s finesse and attention to balance and flavor. Entrées were widely praised among our group, and both my wife’s pasta and mine delivered exceptional flavor and execution. However, they arrived only warm rather than hot — a notable misstep for pasta service and one that slightly tempered an otherwise strong culinary showing. Taken together with our previous visit, Osteria Tulia remains a very good choice for Italian dining in Naples. A beautiful Naples evening allowed for outdoor seating, which added to the atmosphere. The overall vibe at Mercato is lively and engaging, and Bar Tulia fits comfortably within that scene. Service was a highlight. Our server was attentive, personable, and helpful in guiding the table through menu selections. The food remains the restaurant’s strongest asset. My meal—a meatless pasta dish accompanied by a Caesar salad—was well executed, with thoughtful presentation and solid flavors throughout. Others at the table echoed similar satisfaction with their selections. There were, however, a few logistical drawbacks. Our outdoor table, positioned close to the pedestrian walkway, felt quite cramped for a party of seven. The table itself was small for the group size, and as someone on the taller side, the seating arrangement proved somewhat uncomfortable over the course of the meal. The beverage program offers a standard selection of wines and cocktails—reliable and perfectly suitable for the setting, though not particularly distinctive. “As a first time customer, I was a little apprehensive in ordering a take out pizza online from Palumbo's. On arriving there, it was like a beehive of activity. They were CRAZY BUSY. People filled the tables eating delicious looking food and some waiting for their takeout orders. The salads looked really fresh and the pizza looked and smelled heavenly! My pizza was not ready when I arrived so I sat at the bar to watch the goings on. There were professional pizza makers churning out amazing looking pizzas with fresh toppings. They looked good enough to eat uncooked! I spoke with the owner who was hustling around making sure everyone was taken care of and things were running smoothly. Our pizza, a large supreme, was in one word; AMAZING! Warm and delicious with loads of fresh toppings and all at a fair price! Needless to say, Palumbo's is our new "go to" pizza restaurant! “I placed an online order for pickup and noticed the app never updated with any status. I decided to drive over to check on it and found out they had actually closed early for the day. A little confusing at first, not going to lie.

I called the support number, and after a few minutes a gentleman came out personally to apologize. He explained they had been slow and closed early, but he offered to stay and make my order anyway. That kind of customer service really says something.

I decided to let him make it — and I am so glad I did.

I ordered the All Meat pizza and the Pepperoni Sticks. I didn’t even try it until I got home. My girlfriend and I took our first bite, looked at each other, and almost in sync said, “How have we never known this place existed?”

The pizza was that good.

Loaded, fresh, perfectly cooked — just flat-out delicious. We understand everyone has different tastes… but wow. This one hit.

Yes, the app situation could use improvement, but the effort, the apology, and most importantly the quality of the food completely made up for it. It’s rare these days to see someone take responsibility and then back it up with product that speaks for itself.
