“Amazing service and great food! Came here for the first time and thought I ordered a small tea, which they then delivered. They rushed over soon and told me I had paid for a regular size. I told them it was fine and I would keep the small, but they brought over the next drink anyway! My friends took my extra tea and we all had a wonderful meal. Food was super fast and well cooked. Wonderful staff. Come in, especially late at night!“

“La Estrella feels very familiar, at least the atmosphere of the restaurant, the staff and most of all the food. It’s almost ripped out of el barrio chino in Cuba, truly nostalgic. They prefer cash payments, as tip for anyone who is looking at the reviews. The food is amazing every time, very fresh, comes out quickly and is great for pick-up on a night that cooking dinner seems like too much. It’s a great spot for Chinese food, and you can always count on them giving you the free crispy small noodle bits on the side, I’d die for those things. “I came to this restaurant due to the hype on social media because of their authentic food. I decided to come and try it with a friend and it did not disappoint.

As soon as you’re seated, you get offered hot tea and water. The hot tea is good. The waiter provided some great suggestions. The only thing is that we did have to request the chow mein noodles, when it was offered to the other tables.

To eat, I tried the fried shrimp taro cake, fried crab rangoon, pan fried pork dumplings and special lomein. The fried shrimp taro cake was the best thing I’ve tried that day. It was delicious and I could eat this all day, everyday. The fried crab rangoon was also delicious and I will definitely order it again. The pork dumplings were tasty too. The special lomein had pork, chicken and shrimp and it was very good. It also came with white rice, which was had no seasoning, but that was expected. The special lomein is definitely a shareable dish.

Overall, the service was good and the food was very tasty. I was also very surprised how affordable it was. This is definitely a place I would return when I’m craving Chinese food.“

Food was very good, portions were good and price is good to and it came with choice of soda , my bill was 9.58 including taxes and I attached pictures of my meal , menu , and inside of take out place . “This is a quintessential old-school Miami Chinese restaurant. Great value and quality. We came in on an early Saturday afternoon. While we were there, a couple of tables walked in, and they also had a steady stream of pick-up orders. The special soup for two was awesome. Honestly, everything we ordered was delicious.
The service is prompt but not necessarily friendly, it isn’t unpleasant either. Just no nonsense, straight to the point.“

“This is like my 3rd time coming here and oh my goodness, the shrimp Lo Mein & the krab Rangoon is amazingggg. The Lo mein itself is full and so much flavorful and moist well coated with sauce etc. I love the vegetable that is included!

I ordered appetizers for myself (krab rangoon) and my co-worker wanted to try it and now she also fell in love that she had to order her one today. I’m thankful that I have something to eat on with different varieties of choices by my job (Snappers).

“While staying at the Fisher House near the VA hospital, I was craving some Chinese food as a change of pace from the delicious local Cuban cuisine. Even though this spot might not look like much from the outside, don't let the age or the location fool you—it is a busy, popular, takeout-only gem.

​I ordered the jumbo shrimp with mixed vegetables, the Triple Delight, and some chicken wings. Everything was spot on: the food was fresh, served piping hot, and packaged perfectly.

​The highlight, however, was the service. The gentleman who took my order (I believe the owner) provided exceptional hospitality. He was incredibly welcoming, communicated clearly, and had a great sense of humor. When I was feeling indecisive, he patiently guided me to some great choices.

We visited Chop Suey Restaurant (韦氏酒家) after going to the Sex Museum, and it turned out to be a pleasant find in a quiet residential area. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive.

We ordered spicy chicken and braised beef brisket with radish. Portions were generous — easily enough for two people to share. The spicy chicken was decent and very good with rice, while the beef brisket was tender but a bit sweeter than expected for our taste. All dishes came with complimentary steamed rice, and Chinese tea or water was provided for free, which we appreciated.

We noticed many local diners ordering the fried chicken, which looked delicious — unfortunately, we were only two people and couldn’t try more dishes.

If you’re in Miami and craving Chinese food, this is a reliable option and might just surprise you.“
