“Can’t say much about the food here but the marina service is top notch ! The marina could use some work and it’s not as fancy as other places around, but we come back year after year and rent a slip and storage May-August solely because of Harley. He is always a joy to interact with, honest and hardworking. He addresses any issue or concern with haste, makes us feel like family every summer and is always super accommodating to my handicapped father when he comes with us to the marina which means the world to us. Can’t say enough good things about him!“

“We were not planning on going here but so glad that we did. Everyone from the valet to the servers and staff were just so wonderful and accommodating. We had the crab cake for appetizer , black grouper as the main and key lime pie to top it all off. All courses were delicious.“

“Very clean establishment. The bathrooms are large and very clean. The bartender was super nice and friendly. You can order beer, mixed drinks and wine but don't expect food. However, the bartender had no problem allowing us to bring food in. He even provided plates and napkins for us.“

“Happened across Scalawags after doing a quick Google search of the name while in Sarasota area. Came in about noon on a Wed, just a few mixed age locals there, friendly people, fun and good laughs! Mainly a pool tables and electronic games type bar, dimly lit. Kitchen opens about noon, had a beer on tap and ordered the Grouper Sub, which was great - would get it again. Had another beer. Cash only for Papa Ron's food menu. Bar service is Scalawags, pay separately from food - works for them and me - no problem. Will return!!BTW - The Scalawags name came to mind because of the recent Gasparilla fest in Tampa and also because there is a Scalawags Whiefish & Chips in Mackinaw City, MI that a good friend of mine created, owned and operated for 30 years - serves the BEST fresh-caught Great Lakes Whitefish anywhere! So if you ever go there - you won't be disappointed there either!“

“This place is pretty cool a nice atmosphere with the music not too loud, decent prices, and the pizza is decently good for a bar that isn’t really a restaurant. I’ve been here 3 times for the pizza and each time it’s not an Italian restaurant quality but it beats the heck out of dominoes or Pizza Hut. The bar tender with the long hair, he is super nice, very attentive, and an awesome overall due. Give them a try.“

“Canadian Legion Member for 45 years. I have been coming to the Post 24 Legion for the past 23 years and find it is top notch in every way possible. The Legion is a wonderful building with so many activities, friendly patrons, super staff who serve wonderful meals. “If you can overlook the cigarette smoke. This bar offers awesome karaoke and Bingo events. They also have 3 or 4 Valley pool tables. There's always groups waiting to play on the pool tables. I believe that Sunday afternoons, they offer free pool.“

Beverages:Eighth floor & Palomita Fresa (pink) were delightful. Wagyu carpaccio ( tasty) Caribbean lobster bisque ( chunks of lobster) , Wagyu filet & lobster, Wagyu filet & crab cake ( the filet could be cut with a butter knife. Lots of crab) , Brussel sprouts ( I would pass on ordering at next visit) lobster Mac & cheese ( chunks of lobster and flavorful) tropical paradise ( a bit of tart & cream paired) & Chocolate Praline Truffle ( rich & indulgent). “i went to this place for my best friends 21st birthday. we got a cabana and ordered drinks and food and just sat by the pool. Matt was so attentive and was even bringing us things we didn't ask for. It was so hot up there and he brought everyone towels with ice in it to keep us cool. He was so sweet and made the experience overall so much better. The atmosphere and view was amazing and the drinks and food were pretty good. I definitely would recommend coming here during the week with some friends.“
