“Rainbow Palace – A True Fine-Dining Chinese Classic
Rainbow Palace is a true gem of fine-dining Chinese cuisine located on East Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. This restaurant has been around for roughly 35–40 years, and it shows in all the right ways — elegance, consistency, and attention to detail.
I’ve been meaning to dine here for at least 15 years, but timing was never right. They are open for dinner only — no lunch, no happy hour — which already sets the tone that this is a serious dining experience. When you walk in, you immediately notice the refined atmosphere: a beautiful bar area, a private dining room, and one of the most elegant Chinese dining rooms I’ve ever seen.
Now, the food.
We started with the Shrimp and Lobster Dumplings — hand-kneaded dough shells filled with minced shrimp and lobster, pan-fried on one side and served with a honey mustard soy sauce. Outstanding. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and easily among the best dumplings I’ve had. We ordered them per order and they disappeared fast.
There were four of us, and we ordered four main dishes to share. One standout was the Roast Duck with Portabella Mushrooms and Asparagus — thinly sliced roast duck sautéed in a nine-spice Asian sauce with fresh portabella mushrooms and asparagus. Rich, tender, and beautifully balanced.
We also had the Chef’s Lo Mein, featuring sliced chicken, honey-roasted pork, and shrimp tossed with soft angel-hair lo mein noodles and fresh garden vegetables, seasoned with aged soy sauce. A classic done exactly right.
Another highlight was a large shrimp entrée, featuring jumbo shrimp cooked perfectly — firm, flavorful, and clearly high-quality. Not your average shrimp dish; refined rather than heavy.
Every dish came out hot, fresh, and plated with care. The flavors were balanced, the ingredients were top-tier, and nothing felt rushed or over-sauced.
Rainbow Palace is not casual Chinese food — it’s classic, upscale, old-school fine dining done right. If you appreciate elegant surroundings, excellent service, and thoughtfully prepared dishes, this place absolutely deserves a visit“

“Just visited my BFF of 40 years and we learned Lotus has moved as we always dined here when they were in Wilton Manors. OMG…it’s better than ever!! We were so impressed that we visited 3 times during my 12 day stay. They have a beautiful new restaurant, a young, fresh FRIENDLY staff, and the owner visits each table and engages with every customer. Food is even better than before and portions are huge!! Lotus is also very LGBTQ friendly…just as they were in Wilton Manors. Highly recommend!!!! Five stars!!“

“Soup dumplings were good. Also had the pan fried dumplings which were good but on the pricier side.
The noodles with brown sauce in my opinion was a bit too much on the salty side. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup while tasting good, had too few noodles to justify the price.“

“Great food, terrific value. This place is a busy family run take out restaurant. I see other comments that they are rude but that has not been my experience at this restaurant in many visits over 10 years. They are cooking your food, packing it up for you so they don’t have lots of time for conversation but I have found them always polite. The food is amazing. Definitely try it.“

“The fried chicken wings here are seriously some of the best around--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. They've definitely mastered the art of frying wings.
The fried rice is also a standout-full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and never greasy. I always ask for extra bean sprouts and green onions, and that takes it to the next level.
Those fresh, crunchy additions really bring the dish to life.
Now, let's talk about the pork egg rolls--hands down the best l've ever had. They're crispy, flavorful, and packed with filling. You can tell they're made fresh and not just pulled from a freezer. They're so good, it makes perfect sense why this place is called Egg Roll Kingdom--they definitely live up to the name.
If you're craving quality fried rice, wings, or egg rolls that actually deliver on flavor, this spot is a must-try!“

“After Sun House Chinese closed, I had to find another spot, and this is the only one that made the cut. I don’t eat Chinese food anywhere else. The honey garlic chicken fried hard and the chicken fried rice are my absolute favorites. I’ve been coming here for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Plus, the lady at the front counter has amazing customer service—please tip her!“

“I love this restaurant. I have been going here for many yrs. The food is always very good.. A friend and I went to every Chinese restaurant from Miami to Polk county and this restaurant made our top #1. Our only one because we will always continue to get food here and we don’t get charged 1.00$ for extra sauce.“

“Surprised after all of the Chinese food places I've tried, I've found one that was really good! Actually it was on point. Quality of food 100%, service was quick and friendly. I'll definitely come back. I got the boneless spareribs dinner with Wonton soup, honey garlic nugget dinner and an extra eggroll. All fantastic thank God. Well done. Thank you for a great meal.“

“Best Chinese food in all of South Florida , there's no comparison hands down. some of the best comfort food for me when I'm craving the best. Family owned and operated, some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. I probably go there twice a week they're like family.. my favorite is the Beijing beef in the bourbon chicken. This is a must for any Chinese food enthusiasts out there, they are totally different than the mainstream restaurants around town best prices as well with enough food that feeds me all day and breakfast in the morning.“

“We've been going to Ruby Chen's for YEARS! Never ever ever disappointed! Family owned and run! Thank you! I remember back in the late 80's early 90's when you helped St. Jerome at their carnival!“

“I have been going to this establishment since I was a little girl. I am now 67 years old. The ownership just changed about 4-5 years ago. Absolutely NO DIFFERENCE! The staff is ALWAYS nice and the food is good and consistent! So these people claiming otherwise need to be ignored. Go see for yourself. I am still looking for a similar place with the same quality here in Atlanta. So far, NONE of them match for the price point. I will have to double what I pay at a higher end place and hope it is worth it. Their vegetable Egg Foo Young is to awesome as well as their Singapore noodles. I'll stop now. It's just that I know these people are lying calling them rude and the food awful.“

“Okay so they're different, and they do things different... And that actually a great thing!
A family member of mine have them them rave reviews some time back, and they weren't exaggerating...AT ALL!! Great pricing for what you're getting, and, not only that, but: FIRST CHINESE FOOD I ATE, AND DIDN'T HAVE TO USE ANY SOY OR DUCK SAUCE WHATSOEVER!!!
Flavor impeccable, service was sweet, food was done before I could write this review.
I'll be back. I'm the meantime: gO and enjoy [anything] one the menu...
...You'll be happy you stopped by!“

“Decent American Chinese food restaurant. The chicken wings were well done and crispy. The fried rice tastes smoky not really fried and had very few pieces of pork to be called a pork fried rice. The Crab Rangoon were a little bit on the sweet side for my liking. The neighborhood looks a bit sketchy on the Broward side. The service was good, speedy and answered my question professionally.“

“The dessert took longer to get to the table than the food. They did take it off the bill but not what I was looking for nor is it a fix to the issue. The waiter was hardly seen and when he was (which was not often enough) it was bad timing - Mouth full of food, he's asking if everything is okay. It was a nice place though. Food was great.“
