WORST Service I’ve ever received…
First night in Ft Walton and we decided on The Crab Trap. We had 4 adults and 2 teen children. Atmosphere was cool and food was okay. However, the service was terrible.
1. Asked for an extra plate, and he told us to share or use others.
2. Asked if he could take my empty bottle and his EXACT words were…no you can leave that there on your table, that’s why we have bus boys.
3. Asked for a printed copy of the check and,...read full review
I had a lovely lunch experience here!
The food was flavorful and well-prepared. The gumbo had a rich, balanced flavor — perfectly seasoned without being overwhelming. The raw oysters were fresh and tender, but what really stood out was the cocktail sauce — bold and unique, definitely better than most places I’ve tried. It truly elevated the oysters.

We are locals from Pensacola. We got the Cobia plate that was $39.00. When we got the plate we knew it wasn’t cobia. My husband fishes and catches them and we have ate it multiple times at other restaurants around the area. Beware if you don’t know fish. They will charge you for fish that itsnt what they say. After $210 we won’t be back and tourist should find another place to eat if they want local seafood.

The Crab Trap is a seafood restaurant located on the boardwalk in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, offering a beautiful ocean view and a relaxed beach vibe. The outdoor patio seating is perfect for enjoying the beach atmosphere. One of the standout dishes is the snowcrab legs, which have a delicious, sweet, buttery flavor. However, be prepared for the effort required to crack the shell and extract the meat, as it can be scarce for the effort needed. Customers often praise the friendly, personable servers, with one server named Nick receiving special mention for quick service and attentive care. The view, the atmosphere, and the food are highly appreciated, making visitors want to return again and again. The restaurant has a large, free parking lot, making it a convenient dining option. Visitors can also do some souvenir shopping and access the beach easily, with nearby activities like beach volleyball. The food, especially the snow crab and Bairdi crab legs, is described as excellent and flavorful, with some customers saying they ate all the meat and wish they could visit more often. The restaurant offers great views, tasty seafood, and friendly staff, though some mention that the menu can be overpriced and service, at times, not perfect. Overall, The Crab Trap provides a nice dining experience with a relaxed beach vibe and delicious seafood, making it a popular spot for tourists.
