“I have been a regular here for a while. I don’t know how to title this review but if I could I would call it, “How not to be a Karen in a Restaurant.”
I come here during the week almost daily to sit at the bar and get work done that I had no time for during my school day. The happy hour prices are also a great bonus!
I come here because the staff is warm and like family, and just as important, the food is awesome and you can tell that the GM Zee takes pride in all aspects of this wonderful spot.
Today I had to take a half day from work and had the opportunity to come in early for lunch. I also must disclose I have extensive hospitality management experience, and that I’m not an entitled human being.
I saw something today that should be on everyone’s DON’T EVER DO THIS list.
I can’t help but pay attention to what’s going on around me. I was at the bar when I noticed a scene starting. 2 women and a child were dining with one of the best servers I’d ever had. Apparently their order was running behind. The server was on top of it and got Zee (The GM) involved. They had ordered an item that takes a long time to cook and an app that should’ve come out faster than it did. Both Zee and the server apologized and offered other items while they waited.
Here’s the WTH Karen part. This woman jumped up and chased the GM down to tell him he was rude. I’m sorry, offering to help is not rude. The man has a game face because he cares. Her entitled self got up and yelled at him in public. I’m embarrassed for her and how our society is devolving. Don’t be a Karen.“

“The race track road location has always been a Great experience! Every one of their stores seems to be connected technically so they know my favorite order when i call and they recognize the phone number. They listen well and I’ve not had any complaints about their product yet. I’m not a huge pizza eater but for the money it’s hard to beat.“

“JL’s has been a staple to my Navy family since the early seventies. We moved from Guantánamo Bay Cuba to Jacksonville.. Dad 95 years old and I had another great dinner! Liz, took care of us tonight, she went over and beyond the call of duty! I told her I wanted to get a new t-shirt when we finished dinner. We place our order and next thing I know she brings out several T-shirts for me to choose from! That’s, that extra little touch that goes a long way!“

“We started coming to Umami when they updated their concept to focus on curry. We moved away but would stop whenever we could to get some. The owners are amazing and the food reflects their love for their restaurant. I’m happy to see when all the seats are full here and everyone enjoying their food!“

“We were in the area and decided to stop by, and we’re so glad we did. Allie was our server, and she did not disappoint. Her customer service and knowledge of the menu were outstanding. We started with the crab cake—wow! The flavors were incredible, and the portion size was perfect for an appetizer. The red wine was served perfectly chilled. For our main course, we had the bison short rib with fresh mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can truly taste the difference here—they specialize in fresh, made-to-order food with no freezers or microwaves, and it shows. This will definitely be our go-to spot from now on. “Love this place! We go five days a week for breakfast. They have amazing servers a wonderful owner and the food is perfect. Very fresh eggs homemade biscuits and I’ve never had service without a smile! By far my vote for the best breakfast in Jacksonville if you want a nice diner home-cooked meal feel! We have literally stopped going to other places for breakfast and only come here. Ask for Bailey I promise you won’t be disappointed.!“

“This was my first time eating at J. Alexander and I was so pleased with everything about this place. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It was a group of 10 of us celebrating the birthday of one in the group. Our server Misty was awesome, she was so helpful and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with everything we ordered. Now to the food, WOW!!! everyone enjoyed the steaks, crab cakes, salads, warm bread with butter, celantro shrimp and to top it off the warm carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Yum,Yum. It was a five star meal and five star wait- staff! Without knowing that I was fumbling with my phone I mistakenly somehow posted review with no comments. It was definitely a five star meal from the friendly and hospitable welcome through the delicious meal and the flawless Service by the excellent waitress. “The salads and ranch is top tier ! The Philly cheese steak not so much it had tomato and lettuce on it. I’ve never seen a Philly cheese steak with tomatoes and lettuce. Also Philly cheese steak tasted like Taco Bell which is very different.“
