50 Best American Restaurants near Fruit Cove

“I have been a regular here for a while. I don’t know how to title this review but if I could I would call it, “How not to be a Karen in a Restaurant.”
I come here during the week almost daily to sit at the bar and get work done that I had no time for during my school day. The happy hour prices are also a great bonus!
I come here because the staff is warm and like family, and just as important, the food is awesome and you can tell that the GM Zee takes pride in all aspects of this wonderful spot.
Today I had to take a half day from work and had the opportunity to come in early for lunch. I also must disclose I have extensive hospitality management experience, and that I’m not an entitled human being.
I saw something today that should be on everyone’s DON’T EVER DO THIS list.
I can’t help but pay attention to what’s going on around me. I was at the bar when I noticed a scene starting. 2 women and a child were dining with one of the best servers I’d ever had. Apparently their order was running behind. The server was on top of it and got Zee (The GM) involved. They had ordered an item that takes a long time to cook and an app that should’ve come out faster than it did. Both Zee and the server apologized and offered other items while they waited.
Here’s the WTH Karen part. This woman jumped up and chased the GM down to tell him he was rude. I’m sorry, offering to help is not rude. The man has a game face because he cares. Her entitled self got up and yelled at him in public. I’m embarrassed for her and how our society is devolving. Don’t be a Karen.“

“We were in the area and decided to stop by, and we’re so glad we did. Allie was our server, and she did not disappoint. Her customer service and knowledge of the menu were outstanding. We started with the crab cake—wow! The flavors were incredible, and the portion size was perfect for an appetizer. The red wine was served perfectly chilled. For our main course, we had the bison short rib with fresh mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can truly taste the difference here—they specialize in fresh, made-to-order food with no freezers or microwaves, and it shows. This will definitely be our go-to spot from now on. Thank you for a superb dining experience and an amazing fresh meal!“

“As always, their food, vibe, professionalism, and service were top notch. Our first night out in a while, and as usual, JCF exceeded in delivering an amazing atmosphere. The cooks, servers, and staff were, as always, quick, thorough, and the food was delish. Ibelieve I've had nearly everything on their menu now and it never is less than excellent! “Easily one of my best dining experiences in Jacksonville. Food and service were incredible. I've been in Jax a long time and I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner. The dry-age steak was perfect and the lobster crab cake was top tier. The manager greeted us and Mitoki made sure we had a great time our dinner date! Oh, and the cheesecake is amazing.“

“This was my first time eating at J. Alexander and I was so pleased with everything about this place. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It was a group of 10 of us celebrating the birthday of one in the group. Our server Misty was awesome, she was so helpful and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with everything we ordered. Now to the food, WOW!!! everyone enjoyed the steaks, crab cakes, salads, warm bread with butter, celantro shrimp and to top it off the warm carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Yum,Yum. “Had quite a wait but it was lunchtime. Tried to order ahead got answer then click. So had to walk in and order then wait outside for just about 30 minutes. They were busy and it was lunch time so it was understandable. If you read this….. call ahead like 45 minutes in advance. The food is excellent and definitely worth the wait, if you have the time.“

Jasmine (bartender) does the job of 3 people and always with a friendly and helpful attitude, no matter how many demands she has coming at her at once. The food is consistently terrific and a great value. We often pick up at curbside, but today dined in at the bar. Our wonderful experience will keep us coming back!“

“We tried Clara’s Tidbits in Fleming Island today and were wowed by the sweet, welcoming, and informative staff. So friendly and eager to greet us and take our order. The chicken and potato salads were fantastic! The pita chips were crunchy and perfectly seasoned. The potato soup was the best I’ve ever had. The iced tea was refreshing. They were very good with my little ones and the dining experience couldn’t have been better. This was our first visit but certainly won’t be our last. Loved our experience.“

“One year ago we lost a very dear friend, co-worker, family member and loved one! We went to seasons 52 to celebrate his life and brought with us (his ashes). The staff at seasons 52 town center Jacksonville Florida was amazing and accepted the situation as if he was there! From the bar tender Michael who served him a drink to the receptionist who Renee who made us fell very welcome and treated our friend with respect and dignity to our waiter Blake who also went the extra mile to make our experience exceptional! We would like to recognize these people for helping us make our friends night out so very special we will be back every year because of them and the service, not to mention the food was amazing! “Man, I have to say that this is the most underrated breakfast and lunch spot! Been going here for years. Loaded homefries with gravy are amazing and the Club sandwich for lunch is huge!! They definitely do not skimp on the portions. I honestly stop here if not everyday it'll be every other. The people there are super nice! I have nothing but well wishes for all yall in there! “Years sago, my wife & I tried this specific location twice. We're usually "3-strike" people but the experience was so bad. they got 3 strikes in two visits! For this Thanksgiving, we decided to take my wife's mom but this was the only location we could get a reservation. We were reluctant to go but some friends of ours had been recently and said it had changed a lot... positively. Man has it changed! The GM, Mark, came by and spent some time talking with us. He has done an awesome job in turning things around! The food and service was excellent and the place was cheerful. We had to do a double take just to be certain we were at the same place. Our server, Ms Frenchy, was amazing! She was friendly, engaging and fully involved with providing us with grade a service and a contagious smile. She went above and beyond to insure our Thanksgiving was awesome. We will definitely be returning for a future date night.“

“I went on a Sunday afternoon. Very quiet. I had the patty melt and fries. The patty melt is always my go-to when I eat here. The fries are hit and miss. This time, they were not too bad. Sometimes, I can tell the grease is not fresh, and the fries have that dirty grease taste. Service was average. That can be hit or miss as well, depending on the server.“

And they have all the amenities the standalone bar the cozy booths a great dance floor and they constantly have great The greatest live local music bands it makes the dance floor fill up every time. I’ve had several celebrations there with Cake and the staff stepped up to pitch in and help and I never leave there having had a bedtime met lots of friends very welcoming eighth and the rest of the staff are very friendly and very hospitable you’ve got to stop in if you haven’t been there and watch what’s on the big stage have a great time“

“The salads and ranch is top tier ! The Philly cheese steak not so much it had tomato and lettuce on it. I’ve never seen a Philly cheese steak with tomatoes and lettuce. Also Philly cheese steak tasted like Taco Bell which is very different.“
